17 - Marc Casadó

If anybody from midfield atm should be sold (they shouldn't) it's Frenkie. There was big talk from Deco and Laporta that no player will be able to go into the last year of his contract and they are doing exactly that.

They could be played by Frenkie where he talks about renewing and changing agents but it never really happens. He could still plan to get all the wages from us and leave for free in less than a year.

With our shit sporting departement it wouldn't surprise me they sell Casado for peanuts and Frenkie leaves for free next summer. What then?

Frenkie is better than Casado and I don't want anyone sold this summer but he should be on the market before Casado if he doesn't renew asap.

Even in his own highlight video — you can clearly see how ridiculously long he holds onto the ball! Van der Vaart summed it up perfectly: he plays like a postman!

"Frenkie de Jong plays football like a postman. He takes too long to pass the ball forward — instead, he keeps running and literally carries it to his teammate. Once you’ve gotten away from your opponent, you have to keep the ball moving and make the pass!" said Van der Vaart

His only draw back so far, physical slowish and small.

But he's a warrior, great positional play and has the eye for a pass at DM.

Give him de Jong's body, we got top 3 DM in the world.

Even if not a starter perfect player to keep in the squad, if he develops over time and requires being a full time starter, then we discuss other solutions

Everyone who wants to sell him, doesn't understand the values of our club and should probably look for another club to satisfy his muppet needs. We don't sell Masia kids, who made their breakthrough just a season ago. I can repeat this every single day.

His market value is at least 50M+. Far inferior players have gone for more.

On top, he's a Masia through and through. He, along with Gavi & Fermin, bleeds Baarca. There is no price tag for that.
I would rather sell FDJ than Casado.

This is what journalist mean when they say market value. It is transfermarket which itself states that it is dependent on the valuation of it's own members in many cases.

It is usually a mix between lazy journalism and clickbait.

La Masia players usually bring quality and commitment to the pitch while being content in their limited playtime as well as fostering a sense of camaraderie and positivity in the dressing room. All of which you can't buy. Unless they are dissatisfied and explicitly express their wish to leave, they should be retained to the fullest extent possible.

Casado and Fermin are valuable squad members who bring heart and tactical flexibility to the team's play and thus, keeping them is only in the club's best interest.

Yeah fucking hope this is clickbait. Tbh I'd rather sell Gavi over Casado if push comes to shove - but only if we got like +70M. We need Casado's profile more than we need Gavi's in our current squad - but I hope both stays. First one to go should be Araujo anyway, fucking donkey if a player - I'd even take a fucking straight swap for Dumfries and we could use Kounde as CB.
Anyway, this hasn't been the best transfer-window so far - but if we're going to do some stupid shit let's better just close it on our part. How we STILL not inside FFP to register Garcia and Rashford is beyond mu comprehension - all deferred wages are payed etc.

Ya highly likely it was fake.

Exactly, what makes FC Barcelona the club it is and has been last couple of decades. They bleed Blaugrana, they aren't fucking merchants.
BUT - if a good offer came in for Fermin and/or Gavi and they themselves would consider it than I see no problem with it (would have to be at least +70M). But just pushing our Masia kids out that "made it" is going to hurt us in many ways.

Yeah but when was the last time we were so stacked in positions primarily because of talent coming through La Masia? What you are alluding to is not a hardened rule established by the club, rather a rare occurrence that hardly ever comes about.

Pedri, Olmo and FDJ (who confirmed he is renewing) are untouchable. That leaves Fermin, Casado and Gavi. Casado is definitely the odd man out as Fermin and Gavi are considered superior players.

Also, Flick initially even preferred Bernal to Casado before his injury, which might also be a reason why the club wants to cash in on him now that Bernal will be back after injury.
