How many games did Casado start once De Jong was fit after he came back? Besides if we sell Casado is because Flick gives the green light. You can relax, we won't sell any players without Flick's blessing.

Yeah this.

Like with Woj, the moment Frenkie was fit, Flick preferred to work through the match fitness of Frenkie and Woj to reach their best version, rather than stick with the form of Pena and Casado.

Maybe it was the right call. It probably was because Frenkie ended the season as our best pivot.

But on the other hand, Flick should have rotated more as when Casado did re-enter things, he had lost form and confidence.

It is because frenkie is world class if fit and in form. It is hard to find his form, in contrast to casado, he can reach his form easily but if the two are competing in their best form frenkie is very much better.

Frenkie is better at some things and worse at others. His main asset is ball retention/circulation. He cannot makes between the lines or key forward passes, if his life depended on it and he is nowhere to be seen in defense. Casado may have made blunders, but he's relentless in pressing and great tackler. And he makes instant killer passes of various ranges instead of pondering on the ball endlessly. Two different profiles. In some games or moments DJ is better, mostly when we want to control possession. When more assertive actions are needed, Casado is better.
