That's what you get when you give a top system coach endless money, same as City with Pep. In the end, all their success is Barca's work and knowledge. They just bought it, like everything else in their oil states.

So many Portuguese talents. If CR7 could swallow his pride for a moment and sit his ass on the bench, he could win a WC from the bench next year. Thank God he is too much of a narcissist for that.
Deep down he'd know he's a fraud for winning it while barely playing his part. He'd shamelessly celebrate it outwardly but inside his ego would kill him.

CR7's best chance to win the WC is if he gets injured in an international final.
Imagine if they did win it though, with him being a bit part player. And him being invisible and carried in the final, but all the arseholes going on about him winning it AND being the oldest player ever to win it. Horrific thought.

I think the issue is they are not comfortable at holding the ball. They are used to very quick plays and releases.

I already told Mkabilor that we’d completely dominate their mf.

Strange approach from Xabi, considering defense today is kindergarten tier, and midfield desperately needs another player in the field. Opting for Mbappe, Vini, Gonzalo and Bellingham is strange.

Anyway with each PSG goal we are closer to doing a complete overhaul of defense, a CM, and making hard decisions upfront.

There's a reason why wins like Argentina's are remembered. Maradona and Messi won it with force. Being undeniable the best player. Different levels to this game. Someone might be carried to a trophy, but that doesn't make you a legend.

There are three clubs right now that can sign whoever they want: Madrid, City, PSG

And everybody can pull the "unlimited resources" excuse against this PSG side, but Pep and Alonso can't

Because they have money too. And they can use the money to buy right players. It's nobody's fault if they choose to trust averages.

True, but his fans have always forced the issue more about what he wins than how he wins it.

Remember them trying to claim he had a similar tournament at Euro 2016 to Maradona in Mexico 86 based on similar stats? Never mind that Diego scored wonderful goals and produced amazing passes and general play, whereas Ronaldo had two good games in that tournament and his assists were mishit shots and rebounds from the GK. And they won the final without him.

His fans would definitely spin it as an amazing achievement for him, even if he was poor in the tournament. Look at them trying to give him credit for Al Hilal (a different team to his) beating Man City in this tournament. In their demented minds that vindicates Saudi football and by extension him, even though Al Nassr are a worse team than Hilal and would likely get destroyed by City.

His fans are demented so I'd rather they didn't have any ammunition at all to twist his poor performances like they did when he won at Euro 2016.

Pep was tired of winning he needed a down year.

Luis needed to win, because fans were staring to question his abilities, myself included.

Next season we will see both being in similar place.

Alonso might get found out to be a fraud, time will tell.

Yeah good point but it does make sense to push stats when it comes to Ronaldo, because his stats are really good, so it's smart to push them. Sadly any person who actually watched football unbiased knows Messi is better. Hah.
