People have no idea how much this is a blessing in disguise and a truly a bullet dodged. We need professional and hardworking player, not party clowns (even Yamal needs to be seen if he can keep up last season's level, was partying too hard recently). I'll welcome Rashford for a season (long term would be suicidal), even if he isn't that professional but I believe if a man is down and out to prove himself, he gives his 100%, and Rashford will be motivated and grateful of the opportunity.

I think people are putting too much blame on Deco and the Board, and by all accounts, Bilbao appeared to have been surprised as well.
This guy clearly didn't know what he wanted until the last minute. It seemed pointless trying to use us or Bayern for a shiny contract renewal at Bilbao when it was already on the table and they promised him to be possibly the highest paid player there.

Can blame Deco for a lot of things, but he had publicly ruled out his signing two months ago until Nico and his agent came begging to Laporta.
It’s obvious Deco has preferred Luis Diaz and Rashford over Nico for a while which isn’t exactly that great either tbf.

What a fucking idiot! Forget about this moron and move on, we have better players in our squad already. This is a lesson for all of us. Never go for the same player twice. Furthermore, Deco is not the one to blame for this, he was probably the only person who preferred other options for the wing. IMHO Laporta is the one who got played here. However, we shouldn't blame anyone, we should be thankful that we avoided this imbecile.

He literally agreed on a contract with Deco, what else should Deco have done, force him to sign under gun point? People are dumb as wood to blame Barca for this farce. Barca behaved professionally from start till end. Laporta and Deco weren't too thrilled to negotiate with him to begin with and only because he made the first steps, Barca changed their mindes.
The blame lies 100% on Nico.
