16 - Fermín López

He's a very hardworking player anyways and can chip in with many goals and he gets to live in Spain.

If he leaves Barca then it is pretty much the best option.

Chelsea wouldn't be a bad spot for him, they would rave over him after he settles in.

Atleti would be a terrible spot, you won't win anything and play dog shit football.

I hear it.

I just thought he'd prefer to stay in Spain. Chelsea already have Palmer and Enzo. Caicedo has been their player this season. Lots of competition in Chelsea.

None of those are an attacking midfielder

he would work well with those two in midfield, Palmer can come off the right.

Plus he probably wouldn't want to stay in Spain and play against Barca.

Lately Maresca prefers Enzo and Caicedo in a double pivot with Palmer at 10.

He plays Neto and Madueke in the flanks.

It seems they offered direct swap for Nkunku lol.

I don't rate Fermin high as others but this offer is shambolic.

I would accept 70mil and bought Cherki for 35mil, but it is too late.

No one in their right mind would want to sell him.

If we need a day, there are other assets that can be sold for good money:

1. Ter Stegen
2. Araujo
3. De Jong (we have Cassado and Bernal)
4. Christensen

Less liquid assets:

1. Peña
2. Torre
3. Pau Victor

Potentially this is about 180 million euros.
By adding about 30 million we can use it to buy Garcia (25 million euros), an elite CB-Saliba (please) and Alvarez (please)

70M is a fair price to sell him. And on paper, it is easy to replace him than other players.
However, Barca generally struggle with the idea of reinvesting, and it is why they keep their players to fault.

Expectations will be selling Fermin and bringing Gyökeres for the same money, reality will be much different

As said in the other thread, the rumours were Fermin <~> Cherki before the Fermin Chelsea story broke.

70m in, 22m out for a similar quality player, is good business.

Wont happen, Fermin stays in the end. Potentially will overtake Olmo in the 11. But I'm not so sure of his staying power.

Fermin just needs to last until about 2028 then Tunkara becomes the 10. It'll be fine.
