Expected one. I warned you Barca playing fantastic football recently doesn't translate to a big player on the market.
But that's a bad example to be honest. Barca was the one who decided against him. He was eager to join and a pre-agreement was already reached in January. But when Araujo decided to stay after all, Flick and Deco let Tah go, as he has most likely no upsides to Araujo anyways. So Tah chose his second pick, Bayern.

Tah wasn't going to join us unless we knew for certain Araujo would be sold, but he doesn't want to leave.
I don't expect us to sign a new CB for that reason until next summer.

But this idea that Barca is not among the most attractive options ceteris paribus, don’t know where that’s coming from.
It's part coming from exactly what you pointed at - the club finances. I'm not saying FC Barcelona is a minor club now. On the contrary. But what was in the past with Messi is no longer a reality. That's what I'm trying to tell. Numerous players with "Barca is childhood love" came and went during Messi, taking the shortcut to glory and big salary. Lazy attitude thinking Messi is PlayStation video game and that's how we crashed.

In other words - we have to do our homework to sign the best options, Trent-Arnolds and alikes are taking the same shortcuts to join RM and Liverpool for money or glory. Barca doesn't guarantee any of these, especially after the Olmo case. And to have Flick bust your ass in training, fuhget about it.

Anyway I don't dream of a Galactico Barca and I don't want it. The best Barca was always a hybrid system balanced between a few great players and La Masia talents coming of age.

It's worrying that we shipped so many goals end of season and we believe the solution is getting Joe to full fitness and drilling the system over a full pre-season.

And not thinking the solution was to sell Joe, Christ/Inigo and get one world class LCB to partner Cubarsi.

Still, Tah may not have been the solution.

Let's hope the club has assessed this right because Joe has been out of sorts since PSG last season. That's about 15 months. Damn.

If he comes or goes to Bayern it will make zero defense to our defense.

He was just a good business opportunity, to get a player that's on the same level of all our current defenders maybe even a step below for free, if you sell araujo for a good fee, can't really say no to that.

But as it relates to improving our defense, 0 defense.

Our defense will be improved more by having a fit Christensen and flick making adjustments to improve the defense, that he's hinted at.

Called it.

Brutal brutal. Especially high line.

He has zero qualities we need.
That was always the concern. The usual muppets never understand that we need a different profile from a player than 99% of the other teams. It's the same with the GK, so let's hope Garcia will be able to play our system as well. In the end, it was the right decision not to buy Tah.
