McAllister is ugly up close.
Shouldn't overestimate Flick's influence on long term transfers. If the club thinks there is one in a life time chance to bind a player with big potential long term, who would otherwise be off the market for half a decade at least, the opinion of the coach won't matter much.Flick worked with him in the National team and here before his injury and the two games he played after he came back.
He probably knew his issues, but gave him a chance anyway and yeah.... he seen enough.
Mats is coming off a very bad injury, even for his flaws I think Flick just doesn't see him ever getting back to a high enough level.
edit: When at Bayern Salihamidiz made transfers not to Flick's liking, he screamed at him in the bus in front of the players. We'll soon see if Flick agrees with this transfer or not![]()
Agree with Chupo-MotingCan't blame him when you ask for proper reinforcements and you get Chupo-Moting.
Although Flick said recently that he's had discussions with Deco not only for next season, but the year after as well as they're thinking long-term too. Which would fit with this transfer.
You sound like you’re not too keen on having Flick here.Agree with Chupo-Moting
With long-term, I mean at least 4-5 years, possibly longer. Flick will be max. 2 more years here, I doubt very much he'll go for more given his history. We can't also forget his German staff. They came all willingly with him to Barcelona, but I doubt they're ready to leave their family and friends in Germany for more than 2-3 years.
And last but not least, he'll also be gone in a trophyless season most likely. But that's all future stuff.
