Bayern wants the best players that play for their direct "rivals" for the league, not just German players.

It's not shocking it's lame and disgusting.

From all parties involved in this Bullshit in the German league the past few years.

Yeah you find that when one team has an almost monopoly in an entire league, either on the park or financially.

In the 90s and early 2000s United used to take the better players from their rivals/other sides too (Cantona, Cole, Rio, Rooney etc)

I think he means that you would ideally want the best German talent to stay in the German League.

It's similar to how the English pundits were sneery towards the Kane to Bayern transfer coz they want Kane to stay in the PL.

It's definitely better for competition within the league. It would be even better for the German League if Wirtz stayed at Leverkusen but that won't match his ambition.

I get that but what is the point in the best German talent staying in the league if the majority of it is concentrated at a single club and they have a monopoly? Kane is a good point but he played for a side that is not even close to the biggest on the park or financially in the PL.

Not to sound like a premface or anything (because I cannot abide them), but the PL does seem to have the most competition, so it makes less of a dent if a player moves from a mid-table club to a top club there than if Bayern sign someone from their rivals. There's still plenty of competition anyway, and the PL clubs are loaded even in mid-table, so that extra 100m or whatever gives them even more money to spend or play with.

Just what i think anyway.

Can't remember many wanting Kane to stay in EPL most of the voices I heard wanted him to leave and was happy he choose to do so instead of going to a direct rival of spurs for the CL.

The only thing I heard was about him being all time EPL Scorer.

But he and spurs did the right thing, because it's lame to just move to City after leaving spurs if you're Kane.

The narrative these days is it's a good thing English players are starting to move outside England.

I understand the wanting best players for X nationality to stay in there domestic league,but that's not what Bayern is doing/does.

They are just on some lame shit, them and the entire league that happily goes along with it.

I don't know what to make of this visual data mapping figure but if Wirtz is anything close to Yamal in terms of impact, I'd be a very happy man.

This pretty much means that Wirtz is a generational talent in his role. @Birdy @Rassvet

Yamal always comes out well on top in these comparison charts for this season so this is saying a lot about Wirtz.

Wirtz came up a total dud in the 3 biggest cup games he's played to date. Lost them 0-8 on aggregate Lamine had all the top teams in Europe on skates and gave lots of G + A in those games.

Yeah as I said the diagrams are useful for showing Wirtz has ability, but the fact he's near Yamal in them shows just how flawed things like that can be, even though I like them still. It's like how fbref stats don't match the eye test of some players at all.

Stats are important, but flawed.

Hopefully sporting directors aren't as enamoured with them as Tempt is.
