I'd say Mbappe is like Luka. He can score as much as he wants but his lack of defense and running means RM give up even more goals than he puts in.

I am pretty sure having pandemic of ACLs, has something to do with RM defending like a premium hooker.

Top scorer in his first season, with tons of issues. I call that impressive.

First half of the season - disastrous, unbelievably underwhelming, scoring only pens and tap ins, several hall of shame performances against serious opposition

Second half of the season - Good. Still invisible and posed no serious threat to Arsenal defense over two legs, missed some chances too

Final verdict? Impressive

Wow, that's some shit standards

All I'll say is that it's an amazing thing to score 42 goals in a half-decent season.

They did absolutely everything to help him win the pichichi this year.

Dodgy penalties every week when his confidence was low at the start of the season.

1 game ban when anybody else would have got 8 and dropped out of the pichichi race.

2 players sent off for Sevilla when they found out Lewa was starting. Add a touch of a customary free penalty on the final day to finish.

Barca can defeat all sorts of corruption but they got us with the pichichi !

Asterix, asterix, asterix !

I find it wild enough that Lewa who's waaay past his best years managed to compete with him for it all through the season and came close to winning even. Lewa is just a better goalscorer. With his striker instincts, if Lewa had pace and strength from his prime as well I think the numbers he would reach would be unbelievable.

In general it is obvious everybody in Madrid wanted to do some damage control during the first half of the season when he was adapting, giving him all the pens, setting up easy goals and La Liga also giving him MOTM in matches where he was absolutely ass. And Madrid even had him as player of the month back then when he was atrocious and even Madridistas laughed at it. Think it's a huge part of the reason people now consider it to be a good season.

I won't be fooled, for me Mbappe's debut season for Madrid is a failure - on a collective but also individual level

Taking the penalty instead of giving it to modric is the most madridesque shit that happened. What a fucking prick, hopefully salah scores hattrick tommorow so he definately gets remembered as the selfish prick in his first of the many failed seasons in madrid

He was injured and Mbappe also had way more penalties.

Fit washed up Lewy still wins the topscorer award.

Mbappe had a good season, especially in the second half.

I don't know what to expect under Xabi Alonso, who's a guy of tactics and systems.

Since first Ancelotti stint Real Madrid reaped the success of rope-a-dope tactics, with a great midfield in Modric-Kroos. Now that it's gone it's all uncertain. One of the reasons we owned Madrid this year.
