Everything in football tells us it's not sustainable, but maybe flick is the mad genius that will change that, time will tell.

Until then he's saying the same thing all managers say regarding needing more signings and depth, some get criticized for it, others don't.

But outside that he's saying all the right things regarding the defense which gives me hope, he know it's not about fatigued, every team is fatigued at this point of the season and defending is the easiest thing to do in football, if anything it's the strikers that should be struggling and they aren't, we still scoring 3+ goals every game.

Next season the objectives should be.

In the league, lose no more than 3 games before the title is secured after that doesn't matter what we lose.

If we lose more than 3, we need to hope Alonso is a fraud.

In the CL, better game management and defensive improvement, conceding 10 goals in the QF and SF, going for a goal in a game that's already won, obviously isn't a receipe for success.

My prediction for next season double.

The truth is we don’t know what a Flick coached team looks like in the midterm because he has never had this success for very long, nevermind with a squad this talented or young

The key is that the ingredients are already there, now to add other options to improve solutions on the pitch

I’d also just add it takes personality to do this job, especially at Barça and Flick has shown he is a pro at this…and precisely because he doesn’t speak the language or get embroiled in the entorno that he can focus on the appropriate management of a young squad at the precipice of something special

Might just be the ideal candidate to lead them, honestly. Now, to support him and I can see he actually actively embraces the blaugrana spirit which can only help this teams ascendency

So basically he's saying the same thing Xavi said after winning his title, just in a more politically correct way?

I'm half kidding relax lol

No it's a bid different

Xavi said I can't compete with this squad
Hansi comes in and shows what the maximum one can get with this squad is
And he then says to Laporta: 'you want more?' or 'you want the same against fiercer competition (madrid getting alonso and top players)'?

He's saying all the right things, we will definitely need to be more consistent throughout the season to win next year.

The last time a team lost 5 games and won la Liga was us in 15/16 season, and we only won it by a point.

Excluding games lost after the league was won like Villarreal today and the two lost under Xavi.

So we have to be even more relentless in terms of not just scoring goals but winning, Max 3 loss next season.
Didn’t we lose like 3 games

Ability to motivate to win the same squad to trophies again/defend the title and go in as season favourites will be different than last season.

I DO NOT think we will be able to be at team highest potential with a 38 yo player unable to run in a system heavily relying on pressing.
Nor with a same GK we had for the past 10 years.

GK and striker are key positions of any team. I'll give a pass for last summer but now Flick knows these players and seen them every day. Will be shocking if he continues with them or at least not adding good competition.

I’m sure it was 3.

Sociedad
Valladolid
Celta

You're saying we lost 3 games after securing the title in 22/23?.

Could be, I'm thinking two but I'll take your word for it.

The important point I was getting at, is we can't lose 5 games in the league next season before securing the title and expect to be champions again.

I agree. Losing more than 3 games next season will cost us a lot

FlickBall has revitalised us. I havent seen so much casuals hype, and hate on twitter like before.
Both are a indication of us going in the right direction.
Us missing out on the FInal might be a blessing in diguise, players will be motivated to win the UCL, while the board and manager wont slack to reinforce our team. In the long run, its good that we are just not at the top as of yet.

The 2014/2015 Treble was really a bad thing if you look at this lens.
Atleast we have a better board now.

This is true. No team plays better football on the planet than Flick's Barcelona.

Absolute box-office and when rested, a straight up menace.
Box office? Yes

Best football on the planet? No

For example the Barca - Inter tie. It was without a doubt entertaining and I get it why people liked it. But let's not mix entertainment with good quality football.

The defenses of both teams were awful and control trough midfield was lacking big time. Barca battered a Inter team that eventually put 7 past them and won the tie. That's not good football from a technical perspective.

Aside from Yamal showing up big time, most of the goals scored were kind of shit.

But I get it that bar is low in football nowadays and we have to take what clubs have to offer.
