Szczęsny on the contract extension with FC Barcelona: “I don’t know. I’m not hiding that I’ve received a two-year extension offer, but I need to decide with my family what’s best for us. I think I owe it to my family, to my wife, to make these decisions together, so I simply haven’t made a decision yet.

Most decisions regarding our household are made by my wife, and I’m absolutely not ashamed of that. Those related to football, I tend to make, but this is such an unusual situation, as we were set on coming here for a year to try to achieve our dreams, then go back to playing golf. I’ll decide in the coming weeks. There are also logistical aspects related to school, moving, etc. For now, I’m enjoying what’s happened, and I’m not wondering whether I’ll stay here or not.”

Was very emotional after the game ended and the last player to leave the pitch. Won't be surprised if he retires again and leaves on a high instead of staying as a backup. Seems like the type to do that.
In short: It'll depend if his wife wants to spend another year with Lewa's wife in Barcelona. Women friendship depend on this extension.

I know the boys over here use his smoking to conjure up a cool and indomitable persona of him. But for me its always been a red flag. It shows he has no inbuilt coping strategies. And nothing he has demonstrated so far tells me he has a mental edge over MAtS. They are both mental weaklings, who become error-prone and whose performances dip when the pressure builds up.

It's beena great story. I don't mind if he stays, but I would love for us to go out and buy a top class goalkeeper. I think this end of season goal conceding spree has shown that we should already be looking for our longer term option.

Thank you, smoker, for everything.

Now, please, GTFO in the summer along with Stegen.

Thank you both in advance.

Either one of him or Stegen as starters is a waiting disaster and only one of them is suited for a backup GK role at Barca.

As a matter fact Pena did better than him most times this season, didn't recall any big fuckups from him while I lost count on Tek's.

You're welcome
So Stegen would be the 2nd backup after him, right?
Stegen can be given a chance to prove himself next season. But drop his @$$ as soon as loser aura becomes palpable and affects CBs

Czsesny is good competition for him.

Stegen should be forced to leave in the summer and Tek should only remain as a lower paid decent backup GK.
