So... What did everything think?

Fell asleep around the 70, but I felt he was basic AF but has something to work with. More Rodri than Busi, but a project and nothing more from that viewing.

Uruguay will make the KO rounds and may even go deep, so plenty of game time to see.

Felt more of a b2b rather than DM to me.
His corners and crosses were on point, although Iraqi defense were meh.
He rarely shows himself to his defenders when they have the ball, which is something I really dislike in a DM.
Not the most imposing on defense, and love to join attack, pretty athletic but doesn't feel like a workhorse. Short passing could use refining and it is clear he is a leader.

He has potential, and I see why the club want him now, but he is probably "2 years away from being 2 years away" when it comes to Barca level. But that is fair since he is just 20, but I think for him the smart choice will be going to smaller team to build his career.
If anyone expects him to be the surprising addition of the first team next year, I think will be disappointed. Feels like he will be just an upgrade over Casado (whom I don't rate highly)

PS: that is obviously my hot take from 1 game. Iraq was easy for them and that isn't a situation where his full skills should be showing.

Yep, had the same impressions already when watching his highlights and 1st half yesterday only confirmed that.

Still worth a gamble for 8m but not a Busi replacement imo, at least not as long as Xavi is our coach. He wants a more positional DM. Not sure we'll really get that but that's another debate.

Don't think Diaz is really 3-4 years away from potentially being a squad player for us but if signed must go on loan somewhere to play regularly. Can't repeat the mistake we did with Pablo Torre and let him waste a season on the bench.

Agreed from the player's perspective would be better for him to go to a smaller team in top 5 leagues or maybe to one of the big 3 Portuguese teams.

Juan Gauto starts. Our new left winger.

Well probably would have cost the same as we spent on Pocho.

Article about our player Niko Takahashi, who is starting for Japan at the U20 at LB.

Rare combination, Argentine father, Japanese mother, born in Cornella.
Almost beats Marvin Park, Nigerian father, Korean mother, born in Mallorca.

Solid if unassuming. You can see why he caught our scouts eyes.

Said in the rumours thread, but I like what I see of Luciano. And also their 4, the right back is very solid.

Saw most of it. They were in control but lacked creativity as Tunisia held a low defensive block. Not much to comment on an individual level. If you watched either of the previous two games then I can't say anything you wouldn't already know about the Uruguay players.
