Spending 50m on Lewandowski was not great business tbh, but we definitely needed a quality striker. Big issue is that we'll need a new one in 2024 most likely.

Anyway, this discussion is useless.

It's when you have 200k and you have no house and no car. Do you spend your 200k for a house and a Toyota, or you spend 200k on a Bentley and sleep in it.

JamDav says you could've got the Bentley.

Terrible analogy that is not relevant in slightest.

Could be true only in hindsight. If we win the league, the benefits of winning a big title so soon in our rebuild, it's worth it imo.

Yes, but we'll still need a replacement in a year most likely. Should definitely not give him an extension at his age.

That's true. Hence my frustration with our fan-owned, obsolete, model. These days, you need much more money to compete.

So it doesnt take hundreds of millions more to compete with Real?

If win league it is all fantastic business... if lose.. nothing could be done. Needs hundreds of milions more to match his 'elite in every department' Real.

One subject at a time please.

Anyway, Osimhen might still be available in 2024. Doubtful if the sale of Man Utd go through and they get a shit tonne of money to spend, but De Laurentiis doesn't sell unless it's on his terms.

Finding quality strikers is really tough nowadays. Very, very few of them.

Same subject.

Just your mental gymnastics as usual.

Plus your assumption is that could not have gone through in CL AND won league with any other top striker who was younger.

I'd take Lewa + Kounde over just Osimhen for THIS season. That's what it boils down to. Our defense was a mess and Kounde is a great signing.

Your hypocrisy is impressive. One one hand you blame Xavi and the club for signing for short term legitimate objectives, and on the other hand you expect short term results.

That is irrelevant.

It was not that choice and still dont get why it seems.

If Oshimen was same cost on books as Lewa.. may even have been less. Kounde et al can all still arrive.

It was, Osimhen would have been such an expensive signing that it basically would have accounted for both Lewa and Kounde being signed. Plus, some change even most likely.

Plus, with this bad Demebele injury at a key point in the season, it shows the necessity of the winger sining as well. It's just that Raphinha and Ferran are not good transfers for us so far.

No he wouldnt have... on the books.

Which is the restrictions Barca were under.

More cash over a longer period as cash is paid in installments.

Maybe even less cash these summers than paid for Lewa.

If Oshimen same cost on books as Lewa same players could have been signed.

Napoli would not have been asking for 100m upfront. Doesnt work like that.
