I think we will have to see what happens in the summer.

I've been dying for a real proper alternative to Alba and Busi for ages now. Both are guilty of going through patches of form that make people believe they are still good enough to be undisputed starters, only to collapse as soon as the pressure gets high. Alba is definitely guilty of shit like that and tired of it.

When it comes to Pique, things will change when AC comes in I think. Guys like Lenglet, Umtiti, and Mingueza are awful CB alternatives and Garcia is basically our 3rd Choice CB, and there's a lot of question marks out there for him as well. Leaving us Both Pique and Araujo being the only two really good CBs we have.

Alves has ran his course, great guy to have in the Lockerroom, but he's completely finished.

Mark my words Xavi is our version of Lampard. This guy s not going to work out. He doesn't have the experience or vision to be successful here. He has the name but thats not enough. He will be out by the end of next season or even sooner.

I just started watching his press interview from today and he looks so dejected, hope it's a sign he knows he has to face the problem rather than a sign he's unwilling to do so.

When you have a tool like Pique it's no surprise Xavi looks depressed. He probably realises he doesn't have that much power as manager.

Completely agree. This guy will not become ever a good couch. Such a true statement!

And, in all honesty, we do not have a complete team either. Beside Pique, Araujo, Alba, Pedri, Busquet, Ansu Fati and Dembele, the rest are mediocre players. What do you. Expect from this team? Can you compare it with Real Madrid? Never so you guys are far too optimistic that we will win any La Liga or CL with such a team. And with our financial problems, you cannot buy real class players just whatever other clubs are rejecting more or less. If they would be good at their actual clubs, the clubs will do everything to keep them. Refer to Torres and Garcia. Pep would have kept at least one of them if ever would have seen any qualities in either one. So,....

Barca will make 5 or 6 signings in the summer, according to Alfredo Martinez. The number's growing, was 4 the other day.

I think Christensen and Kessie are already done, sigh, just hoping the other 3 or 4 don't include Lewandowski or Jesus, at this point.

With what money?

Yeah, some people blame Xavi for using the veterans, but how can you do that when basically the club doesn't have any money to replace them? Every player that was signed is being used and pulled into service.

Imo, the only thing I can blame Xavi for so far is not giving Luuk de Jong more time.

We don't have the players to replace them with. Xavi knows it most likely and that's why he is trying to get the best of them.

To compete for CL you need some elite signings. So far we seem to be unable to compete for these players and the only ones we bring are low money players and/or free agents. Sorry, but that is not going to get you closer to Liverpool and City. Signing their 5th defenders and whatnot.

When Barca sign LDJ it is made out Koeman 'got the signing he wanted' when folk point out what squad lacks.

When Xavi gets to spend 55m to bring in four players better than what have then it is all about what Barca lacks in comparison to best teams in Europe.

No one is complaining about Xavi not playing to level of Liverpool/City. That is just some strawman deflecting away from what folk are saying about games v likes of Frankfurt/Cadiz.

Same mental gymnastics as always.

Barca have done well enough in league and Xavi needs to improve a lot as tactics in past few been weak and with far better players than opposition. Teams that dont open up and can break are causing Barca issues and still have sme issue v those teams that had in last ten years.

Jammie at it again. Koeman was 10th and closer to relegation. Xavi is 2nd. There's a world of difference between the two. No amount of mental gymnastics will change the fact that Xavi improved the team using the same players that Koeman had.

We are not fighting Liverpool or City. We are fighting Eintracht and Cadiz. We don't have better players than these teams? We do. And much better. If we're still losing, why do we need veterans?
