Everyone blaming Xavi for the state of the squad when he's been in charge for a month. It takes time to build up players fitness levels and that's in pre-season when you aren't playing games every 3 days.

I'll only blame Xavi if he doesn't improve these things. Of course not his fault the current state the players are in.

We won't start playing like Bayern, Liverpool or City with these players. Regardless of training or what Xavi does.

araujo, yes.

frenkie? barely better than the average la masia product.

mingueza is a bum that should play segunda. okish on physique.

nico and gavi are slow. gavi has a fight in him. not sure about their physique .

pedri has the body of a kid.

depay looks too top heavy. works too much on his upper body and is slow.

alba is fast, but old.

The point was about physicality not quality or age. Also, depends what you define as athletic physique. If speed is a requirement then yes I'd take Nico out and several others. But then he's strong and tall, which are physical traits. If you require all traits to be good then I'd say the only truly physical player we have is Araujo. But then I'd wager most squads in the world have maybe 2 or 3 more than that.

Pedri has good stamina =/= me saying he has a good physique.

No one's asking that. Many of our players have good technical levels. Let's also improve our physical levels to be able to utilise our technical skills more. We're miles off playing like Bayern, Liveprool and €1b squad city and hoping to reach that anytime soon would be delusional.

Barca is 20 years behind majority of European teams on so many levels:
1. pace
2. stamina
3. height
4. strength
5. psychology
6. scouting
7. training regimes
8. analyzing opponents

I am slightly exaggerating, but sometimes it feels that 90% of our trainings are = rondos.
As if a coach comes and says: ok, guys, stretch for a few minutes, now run for a few minutes and then we'll train rondos for 2 hours and you can go home:
Rondos, rondos, rondos.
But that is a problem with our culture and that parallel universe bubble which media and fans have built since 2011, where we are different, technique beats everything, IQ wins over muscles.
It seems as if we bought that hype how rondos/TikiTaka can solve every problem and we neglected absolutely everything else in football. And now we are a midtable team.
Rondos, rondos, rondos, fucking rondos:

I cant believe that every single player that goes says something similar. Is it such a problem to be a bit 'humble' and try to sniff around, ask some other people from other clubs what are their preparations? I mean, laporta is good with guardiola, just give him a fucking call and ask him what the ordinary week in man city looks like. Guardiola is still developing 'barca dna' football, so there isnt that much of abandoning barca philosophy while being at top of your physical abilities. I saw some stupid games that xavi deploys at training(team bonding), its all cool but being good friends and getting to know each other more wont make you faster, stronger, sharper. Two trainings a day, one for physical preparations and at the end fucking rondo for relaxing.
At the evening working on movements, set pieces both attacking and defending. Make them train in smaller groups to develop attacking and defending patterns,
For example : put all wingers(forwards and defenders) in one group and fucking drill the shit out of them. They need to be capable of running in both directions whenever it is needed. Constant duel drills, where dembele/fati are attacking dest/alba. 1 vs 1. For fuck sake make them fucking bleed.

What a signing we missed because he is Canadian. Barto ****.

You can blame Bartomeu but even if we'd sign him he'd probably be stuck as a winger in Barca B for a few seasons, then loaned out and sold as they would think he's not good enough or doesn't fit our system. In other words they would consider him to be too fast to play our slow football and would prefer to sell him instead of offloading those who are the main reason we play so slow and should be gone long ago.

Bayern deserves credit not only for signing Davies but also for developing and tranforming him from a winger to LB. Would we do the same if we'd buy him? Nope, we'd prefer to play Alba until his wheels will fall off and probably a few years after that.

Did Bartomeu really reject his signing because of he is Canadian? Really? I found that very hard to believe.

I don't remember us ever being linked with Davies.

We were. We were scouting davies and couple of others, and then somehow we ended with konrad instead of davies. Or something like that dont know for sure

It's true.
Shows how much Barto knows about football.

Along with Davies, Adeyemi was offered at the time
