Does it matter? The guy is an all-time great anyway.

Why do we expect the world from aging players?

I don't really "expect" anything from Busquets
I follow him play and see that he is still great, and I'd expect Barcelona fans to see that too.

Laporta would be watching that with legit tears of what Barca Miami could have been.

Should have done a franchise model with investors and not direct ownership from FC Barcelona.

True. ManC and PSG are becomig more popular around the world because their academies and teams. Heck, today I even saw one Finnish young guy wearing PSG jersey. Just shows young generation don't have attachment to Barca but to what happened today and who play for PSG today.

It's all about marketing, but I am not quite sure of Barca satellites. I rather there be indirect investment and scouting into MLS, and it's academy teams, and street culture rather than the former. But that's just me.

Again his slow movement causing problems. He should have red card at this point.

He hold once Italian player when he lost the ball stupidly and when defending Emerson hit the foot.

Lucky to be still in.

He is useless Vs good opponent who press and puts pressure on you.

You?re missing a great game .. he?s controlling things in midfield as usual .
He?s been caught out a couple of times but Barella is practically man marking him plus Varatti and Juninho are snapping into him at every opportunity

He made many almost costly mistakes and he is still lucky to be in the game. Not good man..not good.

If you are watching this game and think he is class you are not watching.

This is why we lose vs big teams. No support from mid(old Busi), slow defense. Typical Barca game this one. Fecking carbon copy.

What a load of rubbish. He was one of the best players on the pitch and together with Pedri and Koke absolutely dominated and dismantled a very good and capable midfield of Verrati/Jorginho/Barella. The Italy team barely had the ball.

The old tired cliche of Busi slow, Busi bad does not apply to this game.

Busquets really played on the limit with his pass selection. It is incredible how low his turnover rate was.

Thiago probably gave the ball away more times than him.

Was caught in possession once in the first half badly, and a couple more which were given as fouls. But that's the risk/reward with having Busquets.

Personally I am enjoying his twilight of career at the top level, even if Barcelona and Spain need an adequate relief asap.

Nah, he looked world class till around 75 or 80 minutes. After that his legs betrayed him
Can't blame him, 3 tough games in row and playing second (or 3rd, not sure when was he subbed against Croatia) at his age while just coming from Covid? That is way too much to ask from him.

Overall his best tournament, probably in past 5 years.

He had a good game on ball... still looks exactly same off it and was lucky not to be in book earlier. Just cant handle movement around him from opposition.

will be a monumental task to replace this guy.

starting to think that we should have got koke all those years ago. he seems to be a better fit in a midfield with busi and pedri.
