Another overrated bum(like Pedri for example) that Barca forum loves. He shouldn't be more than a stopgap for a team like Barca, but yet people think he'll be our next Puyol. Lolz. I know these last years have done a number on us all, but let's not forget the standards that this team should have. Also, comparing him to Roberto...Roberto was twice the player Mingueza is when he was in form. And he is not that good either.

Garcia doesnt have to be the answer to Barcas problems in defence to limit Minguezas playing time he just has to be better than him.
Unless Barca go three at back. Which hopefully dont do as it failed badly when Pique came back into team.

Seriously, this forum finds the weirdest players to criticize. There's literally nothing to dislike about this player unless you hold him to a high standard already. His mentality, his physicality, his no-nonsense all-in work rate, his wages, even his fucking face are likable.
This player is a bonus for the club. He wasn't even on the football map a year ago.
At the very worst he's a squad player that could step in and do a decent job at any time. Rarely seems to get injured despite his physical nature (unlike Araujo). Decent enough that he can even make great assists away to EL winners Villareal in a decisive title game.
He even adds extras you don't expect, like a goal in Clasico, or an assist away to Villareal.
This player is a bonus for the club. He wasn't even on the football map a year ago.

Because people forget where Mingueza was 10 months ago, and where he is now. It's a great leap that should be viewed positively. That's how top players start. Not all are super-high level talents since 18. Some get to the top with hard work and gradual improvements.

Can praise him for that and what he brought at times last season and still not rate him particularly highly.
It is stranger how some folk try to shut down opinions they dont like on him and claim it 'weird' or a 'dislike' of him.

Yeah clearly, he is Paolo Maldini mk2. He is a mediocre ''talent'', just like Pedri, who found a role because we are at our worst since the turn of the century. Nothing more, nothing less. Of course, this is my opinion, but remember, i do watch Barcelona since around the year 2000 and i saw many great players and not so great too playing for Barca. Mingueza may reach the value of Oleguer, but people see him as our new Puyol.

Let's take it easy guys. The expectations for players in this club are enormous given the success of the past. You can't assume every La Masia player would be the next Puyol or Xavi. Heck even Sergi Roberto was a success considering the likes of players like Denis Suarez, Rafinha, JDS, or Deulofeu (those who were in La Masia the same time he was).
We became accustomed to the level of play from Pep era and Lucho era. That's not the norm, that's the exception. Tone down your expectations, this club can't be successful every year.
