European Super League

With 3.5bn guaranteed to every club, Haaland's price just went over 1bn. These are market rules. Just like every club on the planet knew we had 222m in the bank after Neymar.

Yup. Considering BVB is not joining, they will milk every ESL club for him.

His price is now in the range of 800 to 1BN Euros.

Also, no more FFP, since UEFA has nothing to do with it.

Come on guys. It's easy to understand why clubs like Spurs and Arsenal are included. It's a Super League after all, for that you want the most attention possible.
And with Spurs and Arsenal being huge outside Europe it makes more sense to include them and reinforce them rather than say Leicester or West Ham.

Same with Milan compared to Napoli or Atalanta.
It's not about having the best current teams, but those that have the highest potential. And fanbase is a big part of that.

The whole joke with this format is that is leaded by people who do not have the slightest idea of what football really is.
American Investors want to establish a soccer NBA.
But Europe is not America. Clubs mean much more to us that to americans. Football is a religion not a marketing circus with joke fans like in the U.S.

These guys are planning this. seriously??

Bayern worried about those at top of game being too dominant is bit rich when will cruise to ten in a row.

Why though? As dominant as Bayern is, they have never sold out to billionaire owners nor have they ever supported any ideas that would establish their dominance. In fact they are the main ones that push for hard-set salary/transfer/agent caps in football despite this potentially threatening their domestic dominance.

Why in your opinion is it the most uncompetitive league in Europe in terms of winner and why more so now and not in past?

They still should be able to get relegated. Can you imagine those bum clubs ending up 20th and 19th place in the ESL, while also finishing 10th in the EPL. Only for them to get rewarded by getting hundreds of millions and a spot in the ESL next season ?

Arsenal will probably spend even less money

Nah they won't end up 10th in EPL, if it'll even exist. Players will want to participate in ESL if it becomes the new CL. Arsenal will have the means to strengthen their squad.

The teams participating in ESL will be clearly better than the rest after a few years, so the discussion of who deserves to be there or not will disappear by then.

Imagine Arsenal getting trashed every game, ending the season with -80 goal difference. "We tried." will be the banner on the stadium.

Most of these clubs are not equal on football level. Arsenal in this current state are like Vancouver Grizzlies of the 90's in the NBA.

I dont really know how transfer rules apply if one of clubs is not part of the FIFA pyramid anymore.
In the EU we have "freedom of movement worker laws". No employee can be forced to work at a place he doesnt want to be in. That would be slavery.

So afaik any player could have always simply quit their working contract at any point, even without a release fee. But the catch was that this player could not get registered for a new club within the FIFA competitions. He would simply be banned. That's why noone did it.

But this isnt a FIFA competition, it's a new construct. Haaland could simply say "I quit" and then join a new association that doesnt ban him from playing. What's stopping him?

Obviously this would spark a lot of controversy, FIFA would essentially take the ESL to court again and eventually after years of lawsuits the European court will pass a law that regulates this (just like back then with Bosman).
But until then players could just freely switch inbetween these two paralell competitions just like an average person would switch jobs, and there are no current ways to prevent this.
