He's an awesome sub. But it's important he gets trusted with starts as well. Kind of like Trincao yesterday who got to play with the big boys from the start.
76th minute, ridiculous when you are down 0-2 and the midfield had been dragging since the halftime whistle
It's shocking how little Koeman seems to react in a match to correct momentum or link up deficiencies. Dembele & Puig were the right subs, along with Lenglet to move Frenkie out of the backline but waaaay too late
Yeah that was really great.
Wonder if there was an agenda though, showing 100% conversion by Puig, but Pjanic missing... Surely Puig must've missed some as well.
But based on this, I'm starting to rate Puig even higher. Hadn't seen him as a good finisher before (he had a good shoot on the crossbar last season but otherwise no), but if he can finish like that in a game situation, I think the only thing he needs to improve on is his calmness and concentration, which I'm confident will come with just playing time and a sense of trust.
Played pretty consistently recently. Seems like he was right to stay after all . I like that he is confident in his ability. He believes he can play here and is backing it up on the field.
