Things will continue to circle the drain if this guy is not out of the club ASAP. He was the main decision maker that put
us in this crap. There should be 1000-s of people outside of the facilities demanding his resignation. He shouldn't be allowed to make one
more decision.

A total restart is the only sensible thing to do and it starts from the top.

At the moment, as long as he is president, we are just going to get a couple more shiny new toys while the Amigos are still there, maybe Rakitic gets sold at this point to appease the fans but the likes of Pique, Busquets etc. will continue to be here and continue the bad training/fitness practices in the team. And we again get thrashed by yet another team next year as usual.

Of course he should leave.

The danger is though the board leaving now creates a situation where the changes required wont happen.

Not that they deserve it but for good of club the situation should be the current board dont resign/call elections now but stay and make the decisions needed to undo their bad work on the playing squad.

The whole concept of voting for the people who run the club is unproductive. It attracts politicians not professionals. Politicians will make short term moves that will impress upon casual fans, like
getting Neymar/Coutinho/Griezmann, but will hurt the club on the long run.

I agree that if this board resigns (which it should) it could create a power vacuum where no one makes decisions. It can easily be solved by appointing a temp. board made of
people who actually know what they are doing and don't care how it looks PR vise. People who understand finances AND football. People who will identify best possible coach available and make
the necessary cuts in our squad. In Fact this would be best for the club, let the professionals solve this mess and than you can elect another set of politicians next year.

Judging from the recent history this board will only make things worse and all the in-out transfers will be meaningless.

Agree with the pitfalls of an electoral system to choose the leaders of the club, but there is also an argument for it. A bad ownership group that cares nothing about the product on the pitch and only the bottom like can infest a club for decades and run it into the ground since there is nobody to hold them to account or for them to answer to. Elections create slimy politicians, but at least they can be kicked out if things take a turn for the worse. On the other hand a sincere owner that loves the club and appoints the best professionals is probably the best case scenario.

You can make the case for both.

Owners are motivated by ROI. If they buy the club for x amount of money, they will expect to make a profit. If they make the wrong choices it will reflect on club(investment) value. They are motivated to appoint the professionals, because they want to make the right moves. It's not ideal but it is the best motivation in our economical system.

Politicians are, by default, the most ineffective people on the planet. Their motivation is power and vanity and we know from history how hard is it to get them out of the game. They are like leeches, they stick on institution and suck the blood out of it.

DonAK

President of FC Barcelona
Reports he won't resign and that the elections will only be held in March with the new board taking over in July.

Well, we doomed.

The least we can hope for now is he clears out the amigos, but I seriously doubt it.

I see Rakitic going and maybe Suarez as the best case for us while wasting the next few months again on some shiny new toy like Neymar. While the base of our system Pique, Busquets, Alba etc all continue to stay and stink up the joint.

Well at least we wont have to get our hopes up for next season as Messi will be walking around with his amigos again and we will probably fall to Europa league

Isn't Koeman a bit of a Van Gaal in that he doesn't take shit from anyone?
