Ousmane Dembélé

And here we are creating two factions for no reason.

Can't you guys support both, they both play for the same team aka FC Barcelona & CAN CO-EXIST TOGETHER.

This is the mentality I don't like. One bad game from Fati and hardcore Dembele fans will be pissing all over him, and vice versa, why can't we enjoy both

Because Dembele can't pass and we're starving for competent wingers, we'll be hyping any talent that shows what he lacks.

What is Dembele's only attribute? sprinting
What muscles are most important in sprinting? hamstrings
What part of Dembele is finished? his hamstrings

He's done, include in the Neyney deal and cut our losses

Good for you.

Just wait when he has a bad game and his page is filled with similar comments like Dembele's whenever he has a bad game.

I'd rather enjoy both and see who gets the better of the other or even better if they play together.

When you hype players, you create a superficial image of a player which he isn't in the first place. When the bubble bursts it turns into something like a false promise and people start to troll or hate that player.

What is there even to enjoy about Dembele? All he does is get injured or lose the ball when he is playing. He slows us down trying his dumb feints instead of just being direct as he should and go 1v1 up vs a player, and does stupid shit off the field.

Not even bringing him down or saying Fati is better right now, which he isn't. Ousmane's mind is just not in football. For me it's time to cut him loose.

I could say the same about Valverde. But it wasn't the case today.

I agree that Dembele has underperformed and I am also not going to turn a blind eye on what he did. But he is our player and was an important contributor last season. It's not like he is completely useless with no output whatsoever.

He scored goals last season which was good to see, but I can count on one hand the amount of great performances he had. For me simply scoring a goal, even if it is a vital goal doesn't equate to a great or complete game.

I have been one of Dembele's biggest supporters since day 1 when he moved from Rennes to Dortmund, but I'm done with him now. I hope he can keep contributing if he stays, but I've conceded to the fact that he's gone next summer anyway.

I just don't believe anymore that he is as good as I initially thought.

you can't compare fati and dembele. one is world cup winner at 22,overpayed,overhyped,on massive wages and questionable professionalism and attitude and other is hot prospect coming from youth ranks playing his first minutes for the club. for me there is no doubt which one will give his best for the club

Dembele didn't contribute anything to that WC win. IT was Mbappe, Pogba, Giroud, Griezmann

it's not that if he contributed or not. he won the ultimate goal of every football player by the age of 22. WC winner, contracted to one of biggest clubs in the world, rich and only 22...no wonder he appears like he doesn't gives a damn about anything

Comparing Dembele to Ansu is no necessity, but you do have to consider the overlapping positions and general pecking order of our offense.

Good coaching starts with healthy experimentation. You can't know what works until you've tried different things to give you an idea. Our lineups this season so far do indicate experimentation, but what Valverde sorely lacks is the ability to recognize mistakes quickly and correct them immediately. FDJ's position should already be clear, for example.

Good coaching also means affording continuity to things that work, even if it was a bold idea in the first place. If Ansu extrapolates that 15 minute performance to regular substitute appearances then the right decision is to keep playing him and don't slow down. That's not even considering that he's 16 and rapidly growing in experience and maturity.

If Ansu can provide things that Dembele cannot then you push him up the pecking order, damning the status quo. That's not just in terms of better quality performances and better effort, both of which are highly possible that Ansu could do right now if Dembele doesn't stop spiraling. It's also in terms of profile, as Ansu is a more natural LW and even more importantly he looks super comfortable drifting ACROSS the defensive line wherever/whenever he needs to so he can also act as a goalscoring forward.

Dembele is injured right now, and Ansu just killed it in his first performance. Keep giving him minutes until it stops, ignoring the fact that he's only 16. If he proves that his value is competitive to Dembele even at his current inexperienced level, then we can't hesitate to give Ansu priority. Especially given his insane youth/potential, ability to maybe lead our attack one day, and background as a youth product from a young age who's fulfilling his dream. It's an added long term investment as well as short term, to frontload his progression.

But he didn't do anything. He rode the bench and played when France had already qualified for the KO stages. Even as a bench option he wasn't used. He literally had 0 impact on their WC.

It's weird to feel proud over that.

Giroud's different, he's a shit striker but his ability to lay off balls to Griezmann and Mbappe was incredibly useful. The latter were able to be effective at their best because of is presence and link up play. Giroud actually did something.
