What a game whiped with emotion. This is the best league on the planet by miles. Poor Iniesta becomes the 80th injury we have suffered this season hope he will be back in the new year better than ever. Just ridiculous that we lose someone every game.

I watched the game in a Sportsbar in Madrid - promised my wife not to celebrate Barça goals. It's amazing to hear people's comments when they clearly hate the opposing team. Barça wasted a number of clear chances in the first half and were clearly tired in the second. No wonder after Man City game and Golden Boot celebrations. Still, they were fighting back nicely at the end. My Madrid neighbor was not happy that his hero Abdenour caused a decisive penalty, But minutes before, when Abdenour wrestled down Messi and the referee rewarded Messi with a freekick, he shouted 'No Falta'. I had a hard time keeping my mouth shut, but I obeyed my wife's orders and kept quiet. I was rewarded at the end. Abdenour should have deserved a Red for what he did during this game! Imagine that Messi got a yellow card for something quite minor while Abdenour got away with a number of dirty tackles.

great game, real nail biter. We kind of forgot that Valencia was a great team brought down by couple of clueless coaches. Great to see that they are back, I always liked them as a team. Can't wait to see how they progress through season and especially how the y going to play against madrid and atleti.

Valencia fan throws a bag of something at Paco Alcácer, Mathieu gives it back to him.

The ref had more mistakes in our favour overall, offside goal and two pens. for Valencia, but the issue is Valencia should've been playing with 10 men since the 15th minute. And that's another football game alltogether. So, Mallenco was bad, but the first major mistake he did was not sending off Mario Suarez for almost breaking Gomes' leg. Depends on how you look at it, but you can't actually say we won because of the ref, because we don't know what would've happened had Valencia played with 10 men so early in the game. We can only estimate that they would've lost in a more clear fashion, because being one man down for so long doesn't usually end too well in football for you.

Haha

I would pay few bucks to witness that. Hearing them whine after Barca wins by a last minute penalty

Valencia deserves a lot of credit, they played so much better than City did on Tuesday. They did a great job exploiting Digne. Boy, I wish Barca had an impact sub like Munir!

Maybe Gomes needs to either play DM or sit on the bench. It's not surprising Rak was a bit flat, he needed to rest today, as did Busquets. Barca needs better play from the backups. The only position showing quality depth these days is CB, the midfield choices way too often are just not playing well enough.

Nice anecdote. Great for you to survive the lion's den. Reminded me of this:

we need to get better .. we are horrible at keeping the ball , we do not do anything to get it back .. we lack intensity , and we lack focus .. we need to be intnse again like we were in 2015 . ref won us the game , he denied them a clear penalty and gave us a goal for free .. we can't keep going like that , any team that plays with intensity seem to put fear in us nowadays ..

We did not deserve the victory. Busi should have been sent off, Umtiti had a foul in the box, Messi's first should not have been counted. So lucky tonight it's almost unbelievable.

Get a grip. Perez and Suarez should have been red carded in the 1st 20 minutes.

Didn't we win at the Mestalla on a last minute goal from Busquets last year ? They really must hate us there now. :messi:
