City are too strong for us. Here is why:

- they have the best player in the world who is not only that but also arguably the best player in the history of the sport, winning 4 consecutive Ballon d'Ors
- they have the biggest prospect in world football who is already on double digits in goals and assists not even halfway through the season supporting this afromentioned player
- their entire squad is plastered with World Cup, multiple Euro Cup and multiple CL winners and a former European Player Of The Year
- they have the experience of 6 consecutive CL semi finals
- they have just set an all time record in their league, staying on top of the table for 54 consecutive match days
- they have lost 1 meaningful game all season
- they are conceding 0.68 goals per game. We are condeding 1.17 goals per game

Sorry guys, but I'm not confident. This is the first time in our club's history we're even making it this far.

But yeah, some people don't know how good we've actually got it, we have 4 players in the starting lineup that can walk into just about any team in the world (Messi, Neymar, Busquets, Iniesta). There is no other team that can boast that, except Bayern perhaps.

The real test is when we actually become a very basic team, it will be interesting to see how fans behave then.
We have a goal difference of +34-Joint best in Europe, lost 2 games all damn season, with 3 of our most important players injured for half of the season so far.
Yet, we are still five points ahead of the bestest team ever in Madrid, and finished our group as leaders and still top of the league, yet we are in trouble against that Man City (whom have been inferior with every single stat I quoted for our team mind you) I tells ya!

Knowing Tata he will probably play this line-up

Alves----Pique---Masch-----Alba

Xavi-----------busi---------iniesta

Messi----------Cesc---------Neymar

Cracking game its gonna be . Winning Line up

------------valdes----------
Alves----Pique---Jesus----alba
------xavi---busi---iniesta
Messi----Jesus----neymar

Coach : Jesus

The best post here so far :p

It's a very true fact, Barca needs at least 2 or 3 new very very good players and IMO a manager with great personality and vision such as Pep, even though everybody knows well how hard it is to get such a coach to a club like Barcelona...

Hello, City fan here.

Please do not take any notice of some of our supporters and the British media who are far too arrogant and over-confident. We are new to this stage of the competition and you have all the experience and history of winning it many times. Of course Barca are favourites. All true City fans know this.

But it should be a fascinating contest. We are very very good at home (35 goals in 8 games is the highest in any league in Europe). We put 4 past Man United, 6 past Arsenal, 6 past Spurs. Our *worst* result is to have only won 2-0. We will not make the same mistake we made against Bayern and allow them to dominate our midfield like they did that day. And our defending is getting better generally - we defended terribly against Bayern and we will not do that again.

So I think which team goes through depends entirely on what happens when you come to Manchester. If we play as we can do, and score 3 or 4 goals against you, it will be very difficult for you. But if you come to Manchester and manage to stop us playing and to get a win or even a draw, then I am sure you will go through.

I cannot wait - it will be amazing.

Welcome City fan...Yeah, there are a lot of interesting subplots to this tie...Txiki vs Zubi, Leo vs Kun, Navas vs Alba, Busquets vs Yaya, Silva vs Iniesta, Negredo vs Piqué

Have always wanted to get a better look at Kompany so I look forward to seeing how he fares against Messi, Neymar & Alexis

Welcome!

Your current and our former directors, Txiki and Soriano, will provide good intel, I am sure. And what to say about Pellegrini.. Yeah, his record against Barca in la Liga sucks. But he at least knows Barca unlike Tata who is new to Europe and probably hasn't even seen one City match.

Thank you guys, delighted to post here.

I just hope all our players (on both sides) are fit, so we can enjoy the experience. Welcome to Manchester in a few weeks!

I said on this forum that I just had a feeling we'd draw Citeh, and unfortunately that's the case.

A tough opponent. Especially with their sensational home record where they are scoring goals for fun. Shutting them out in Manchester is going to take a monumental effort from our boys.

Everyone knows about our defensive deficiencies so we will need a full-strength backline when the tie arrives and hopefully Valdes will be fit and back in great form.

They have their own problems at the back, most notably GK and their weak link at Left-Back.

Naturally we will be favourites, but it will be a very close tie imo...... Could be a lot of goals.:004:

I knew it! From the very first momment when that ass Figo came out I felt that something bad was gonna happen. Look at his smile when Real drew Shalke, this is a conspiracy guys, Figo deserves more pigheads!!!!

I was reading some of comments on the Blue-something forum (City supporters') and they're astonishingly and rather annoyingly Over-confident.
Here's a comment some imbecile posted there:
We should feel confident, strong and excited.
barca should be crapping their pants (especially when we buy messi, xavi and ineista in the january sales)...

We should win it. It's a must win.:barca scarf:

In my novice opinion, both Ciy are Arsenal are going to pay the price (and a little more) for coming runners up in the group stages. Let the British press blow hot air, its all they can do.

I wished for an 'easier' opponent in the first elimination round, we still have some things to perfect. But with Messi back and no more injuries we have very good chance - this is going to be exciting!
