Flipping terrible rankings what was ESPN's staff smoking!!??!!

It gets funnier when you actually read the texts. This one is from Silva's profile:

Silva has long stood in the shadow of fellow Spanish attacking midfield luminaries like Andres Iniesta and Cesc Fabregas. But, to Silva’s immense credit, it’s come time to ask if he hasn’t eclipsed the Barcelona men.

Giggs (Man Utd): "Without Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, Xavi would probably have been the best player in the world for the last 3-4 years."

The two FC Barcelona players are among the 10 nominees for 2012 Golden Foot Award. The award distinguishes the best active footballer over the age of 29 years old

Just like in 2011, Carles Puyol and Xavi Hernández are among the 10 candidates nominated for this year’s Golden Foot Award. The award distinguishes the best active footballer over the age of 29 years old.

Giggs votes for Xavi

One of the first to cast his vote was last year’s Golden Foot Award winner, the Welshman Ryan Giggs. The Manchester United legend voted for Xavi Hernández, who is in the running for the award with Iker Casilllas (Real Madrid), Gianluigi Buffon, Andrea Pirlo (Juventus), Raúl González (Al Sadd), Clarence Seedorf, Zlatan Ibrahimovic (AC Milan), Didier Drogba (Chelsea) and his team-mate Carles Puyol. The nominees were selected by 52 sports journalists from around the world.

How does the vote work?

This year the vote is open to the public. To vote, simply click here. The polls will close on October 12th at 12:00. The award will be given out two days later, on the 14th, in Montecarlo. The winner of the award will leave his prints in concrete on the ‘Champions Promenade,’ located on football’s famous ‘Walk of Fame.’

Xavi has stated that Real Madrid boss Jose Mourinho will not go down in football history due to his inferiority to outgoing Barcelona coach Pep Guardiola.

And Xavi feels that the Portuguese man will forever be in Guardiola's shadow.

"Mourinho is not going to go down in football history," the Spain star told Canal+. "For me, the best is Guardiola, and in the four years that he has been leading the club, he has revolutionised football.

"For example, Chelsea won the Champions League this year, but the club [Barca] remains the benchmark in world football."
