Setien was always a bag of nonsense wailing. From the very start. No experience of any kind in Europe or working with top players. Not ever fighting for any trophies until Copa this season. He's a desperate call of a desperate fanbase.

What Ten Hag has done on the European stage itself warrants being given a shot in the big leagues, particularly since he was at Bayern already.

Ajax also played well both times vs. Bayern and could have won those games vs. them had it not been for their inexperience forward. So this is not really a one-off because Real Madrid are ass this season.

They've regularly impressed and even having a great season domestically. Their problem is that PSV are managing to grind out the wins Barca-style this season.

It's obviously still a risk and it would need a squad reset for his style of football to work, frankly any attractive style of football would need a squad upheaval as you cannot have half the team not pressing or moving off the ball whether you want a possession based style of football or Klopp's rock and roll football.

Not like the choices out there are great unless you want to go for another La Liga manager with no experience that says fancy things that will be a prisoner of the senior group in the team.

Setien never warranted his hype. Never done anything of significance. As for ten Hag then he's currently doing what earned Tuchel his hype and you seem happy with him as your manager.

Tuchel is liked, so far, because of several things.
First, the manager has to be able to do man management and it is not always easy with some "stars". He has been totally accepted,so far, and love de by PSG players.
Secondly, we had Emery that couldn't change the style of PSG or implement new tactics. Tuchel didn't hesitate to try several formations during games.

So, Tuchel is liked for what he did at PSG not because of his hype at other clubs.

Yes, but you hired him based off his hype with Dortmund where he was praised by Pep among other people.

And he had several question marks over him too. Man management ironically being one of them.

Well, i'm talking about supporter level, which we all are here.

About Tuchel appointment though, it is a bit more tricky. The sport director (Henrique) didn't want him, the president (Nasser) didn't want him. It was directly from Doha. It is supposed to be their Mr. Football (Khamis Khalifa) and maybe advice from Wenger that made them personnally chose him. It appeared it was done months before it was known by the press and he was already in Belgium to learn french.

At our supporters level, we were open to his arrival due to Emery nightmare stint but cautious about what he would bring.

Just like Tuchel, he is also overrated here.
He seems like Peter Bosz, also very hyped, European success but yet failed in BVB
Not saying Ten Haag will fail, but he is the kind of coach I want to see somewhere else before hiring him.
Not many Dutch coach truly succeeded outside of Eredivisie tbh

Why is Tuchel overrated? There is hardly any hype surrounding him. Klopp's hype is many times bigger for instance. For challenging Pep's Bayern (probably his best version of them which was the 2015-16 version) and for not being able to win the league title the season after? Or for winning Dortmund's most recent trophy (the domestic cup)? For having done a great job at QSG so far implementing a new system (s) and outclassing Man Utd and OGS in the first leg completely? Not his fault at all that the QSG players have spines that not even worms would envy. They have been collapsing in the CL in the most pathetic fashion with numerous managers. From Blanc, Ancelotti to Emery and now Tuchel. All very decent and highly rated managers.

Tuchel has questions marks like every other manager but he would be one of the best options (without a doubt) out there if available this summer or in 2020 should Valverde leave in the same period.

We don't really have many options next year when Valverde eventually leaves. Unless you want to go for Setien or Eusebio lol. You keep going for underwhelming safe options and you'll never play to the level of your potential.

Will have to take a risk sometime. Worked with Rijkaard.

Everyone's overrated until they're not. I'm pretty sure people thought Klopp was overrated too when he was making waves in Germany pre-Dortmund. Heck for what it's worth, Klopp's resumé after he left Dortmund isn't all that impressive if trophies is everything you care about.

As for the comparison with Bosz, then his teams don't play as naively. They don't push men forward crazily which is why Bosz failed in Dortmund. There's a method to ten Hag's approach.

The difference between ten Hag and Bosz or de Boer or any other former Dutch Ajax manager is that ten Hag's managed to do something they never did. Which is make an impact in the Champions League. Beating Real Madrid, outplaying Bayern with such a young and inexperienced team.

Sometimes I wonder if you are living in the same planet we are living in man. Tuchel has huge fanbase who thinks he is a top notch world class manager.

I think that few users would say that and more that about you. In which universe does he have a "huge" following and fanbase? Certainly not in Spain or Italy. Germany? Not sure. Maybe Egypt? Is this some kind of joke or are we talking about another Tuchel or Klopp somehow? Care to show me this "huge fanbase" because I can't see it. Where is it exactly?

Obviously he is rated highly/considered a talented manager by most sane and knowledgeable football fans. Not exactly a surprise but from that to claiming that he somehow has a "huge fanbase" and alluding to him being overrated is absurd with all due respect.
