Xavi will be a starter. And it can't be different, VdB hasn't played enough with different players. The transition to Thiago/Koke will be made after the wc.

Alberto Moreno deserves to be included in the final squad after a terrific performance this season and the previous also. He would be a decent back-up to Jordi Alba.

MADRID — Spain's preliminary 30-player squad for the World Cup included most of the key players that helped the country win its last three major tournaments.

The defending champions sent their preliminary list to FIFA on Tuesday, with coach Vicente del Bosque to announce the final 23-man squad on May 25.

In all, 18 of the 23 players who were in South Africa were included in the preliminary squad.
