Ronald Koeman

El Gato

Villarato!
It'll be impressive if he does double duty like Hiddink(?) and some others used to, doesn't make sense for the club to let him leave in January otherwise.

He might go for it given how desperate situation is out of the goodness of his heart.

But he's unlikely to be successful anyway IMO. Doesn't offer much above average beyond playing the angry ginger.

As a Dutchman, I would love to see Koeman as the main coach.

- He is a legend at this club, players will automatically have more respect with Koeman than Pochettino or any other outsider.
- He spoke out about he needed to adjust NL-team tactics to accomodate FDJ the best way possible. I'm convinced he will do that here as well, because FDJ is our future of the midfield.
- Not shy of changing tactics because squad is not optimized currently, so as above, won't be afraid to play 3 man midfield with 2 defensive players.

There is only 1 player greater than Koeman at our current squad, which is Messi.
Koeman is Dutch and won't be shy to put players on the bench or even leave them out of the squad and put it out on the media. He knows he has most of the socios behind him, if he is clear of his intentions from the start and wants to built something. (before Xavi takes over).
He failed at Valencia because he thought he would have the same respect, because it's a Spanish team. Learned from his mistakes and really did a great job with Feyenoord & lately got the vibe back in Holland for the Dutch team.

It would suck if we'd take him from the NT only to sack him a year later.

He needs mandate if he's to become successful. The cleaning out of the seniors should be done ASAP but with a long term project in mind.
The issue I have is him sitting down with current board and laying out a plan, only for someone else to come in, be it coach or board and further delay the new project.

If he'll do well new board won't have any reason to replace him immediately with "their" guy. Font or Laporta should have enough respect for Koeman as a club legend to not replace him just because he'd be hired by Bartomeu.

Even if he does well and gets replaced his stock has risen and will work well for him.

All depends on where club are next summer.

If Koeman does a decent job and starts to make the changes needed but not quite there could easily see Xavi holding off until conditions are right for him.

Double Duty should be.
Netherlands have already qualified for Euro 21. Just ditch Nations League.
In the unlikely scenario that he stays beyond June 21, it will be more burdensome to cope on both fronts, but until June seems easy..

Please be a cunt Koeman.

Dont really care how coach the team more than how lead that infested dressing room as a starting point.

Might be a good choice for recruitment. He can bring in some of this great new Dutch generation that coming through.

My only concern is that the new board could appoint another coach.

Don't want to see a legend like Koeman just cast aside after a year.

Maybe a double duty could be implemented.

He just screams EV 3.0 as a manager tbh. He's a legend of the club but I doubt it means a lot to this group of players.
