madrids been lacklustre going forward, lass has been the playmaker despite his role graneros not really comfortable and di marias been poor despite a couple of shots.
bring on leon.

ronaldo, higuain, canales in.. should be an interesting half.

Leon and Gago also, and canales is really playing well with ronaldo as is higuian, much better offensively than the first half team.

A tale of 2 halves ...
Mourinho tried the 4-2-3-1 as opposed to his 4-3-3 in the first game
First half team was really bad especially in the defense and another indication Drenthe and Momo Diarra lost it ..
the team was lackluster and all the build up wasn't that good.. Di Maria was better than the first game and probably our best player in the first half however the team selection didn't help
for those who didn't watch the game the formation was as follows

-----------------------------------Dudek--------------------------
Ramos----------Albiol--------------------Garay------------Drenthe
-----------------Lass-------------------Diarra------------------
Granero--------------------VDV-----------------------Di Maria
-----------------------------Benzema-----------------------
Drenthe caused the penalty which made the score line 2-0 and the first goal was purely a couple of people who don't want to clear the ball ala " you first , no you first , no way you came here first you go ahead..etc " till LA scored from a scramble .

second half the team was totally transformed .
----------------------------Iker---------------------
Arbeloa--------Pepe------------Garay--------Marcelo
----------------Xabi-------------Gago-------------
Pedro------------------Canales------------CR------
-----------------------Higuain--------------------

Another showing of the new CR in his team player persona ..excellent low cross for Higuain the man to score the first goal .. followed by a rebound from Garay header but beautiful finish from Higuain .. .third goal a great connection Higuain pass to Canales who backheeled to Higuain to break LA defense... Higuain shot rebounded outside the area for Pedro Leon to score a great lob shot as well .

it's still a second friendly and it will only get tougher from now one as we play B Munich in few days however :
Canales has easily taken Kaka role and it will be really hard for VDV & Granero to move him away from the starting line up.. this is the second game in a row that Canales looked lively , creative and capable of playing on the level required for Real Madrid .. he is now more a starter than a sub .
Pedro Leon will make life quite difficult for Di Maria for the second game in a row the ex-Getafe man is a force of nature with his speed, dribbles , crossing and shooting .
CR responded quickly to Jose idea's of team > individuals and we are seeing a creator more than someone just looking for a goal scorer .
Higuain is still the Higuain of last year , it will be difficult for Benzema to take him out even when Benzema regain his form and be in top shape

There was two scenarios for him to leave
1- appearing in bad shape last season so the club would sell him .
2- putting money ahead of career .

The kid is very competitive and he improve his game each year.. i imagine him putting each season a personal season objective like " i will break the 15 goal barrier this year " or "I will start to focus more on scoring in the CL " cause that's his story so far with Real.. each year there is a significant improvement
PLUS thankfully Higuain was well educated by his father (who is his agent at the same time & who was an ex-player )the kid is smart with all due respect to all European clubs if you are not playing with Real Madrid or Barca it's usually a step down ( i should have added Milan but their future is darker than Arsenal's unless Silvio die or sell the club ) , he is not a guy who party all night and come next day washed up or get fat.. etc
I think he will stay in Real till he retire unless there is a major injury ala Diarra that affect his career or do a Butre/Hugo/Raul and leave after giving his best year for a new adventure in the last years of his career

According to Sport (grain of salt) Real Madrid was ready to sell Kaka to Chelsea before he had the operation. The transfer was kept all hushed up for obvious reasons and had seen the green light from all parts involved, with the fee being close to the amount florentino payed a year ago.

El Confidencial reporting the same thing, AS quotes it.

I KNEW IT

EL CONFIDENCIAL is the source of that BS rumor. they probably got it from england, where they claim now, that chelsea and real madrid are about to swap a. cole for benzema. so much BS

the chosen one to leave has always been VdV...he isn't short of offers. kaká getting injured safed him and froze his sale for this season.

"taconazo" a la guti from canales in pedro leóns goal :D pretty ballsy for a 18/19 year old kid playing his second game for a big club like madrid.
all hail valdano for insisting in his signing!!! :worthy:
