Ousmane Dembélé

congrats. now go compare neymar to his actual peers like messi and ronaldo, who've outshone him from three years in a row now. not some random 23 year old

he left barca to become the premier footballer in the world, not to be recognized as better than dembele

its the equivalent of a kyrie irving fan bragging about him being a better player than colin sexton, as if that was the reason he left lebron and the cavs. raise your standards ffs, they're not even peers. lol

LMAO

Ronaldo's 7 years older than Neymar, and Messi's 5 years older. When Messi was 28 already king of the world, guess who was being compared to him at the age of 23? Neymar. Literally the same difference between Neymar and Dembele.

The only reason Messi and Ronaldo are his "peers" is because Neymar elevated himself beyond his age-group/generation through sheer talent, ability, and results. Besides even amongst his age-group, Dembele is beyond disappointing. Seriously man it's over, stop riding his dick.

We're obsessed, but SOME people in this thread said that not only will Dembele replace Ney, but that he was going be far better for the team in the long run...three years later

Don't even get me started on the better than Neymar nonsense. "We won't miss Ney, we have Dembele"

Never forget the biggest clown himself saying Dembele is better than Neymar....

Dembele isn’t fit to lace Neymar’s boots, Neymar is 20 times the player and their Barca careers aren’t even comparable.

Dembouz was panic buy and he showed in those little minutes he played that he is capable of decent performances. But to say that he is capable of replacing neymar is utter bullshit. Neymar developed himself from exciting prospect to heavyweight ballon d'or contender here in barcelona, and since his departure there is no player in the world who could get in the barca attack and not be intimidated by messi and suarez and be on the same wavelength as them.

Neymar is not the benchmark, be fair to young players. Dembele would have easily contributed for us had he not been so prone to injuries.

exactly. how the hell is a 28 year old neymar supposed to be the bench mark for any young player in his prime. go compare neymar now to messi and ronaldo when they were 28 if you want to assess how good he is, not fucking dembele whose been injured throughout his tenure here

he's just NOW finally made it out round 16 of the UCL when he was primed to takeover football when he departed from barca, and even that was a struggle with a loaded PSG side going against a young and inexperienced dortmund. there's a reason these guys keep comparing him to dembele instead of messi and ronaldo NOW or worse yet, when they were his current age. ahahaha

People compare Neymar to Ronaldo and Messi all the time. lol
The only reason people are comparing him to Dembele is because Dembele replaced Neymar as the club's main winger. It's that simple.

Neymar's a better player now than Ronaldo is, and he's considered to be in the top 3. At the very least top 5 in the world. When he was 23, Dembele's current age, he was top 3/4 in the world and constantly compared to Ronaldo and Messi. Now and back then, he was compared to the very best. Stop acting like it's anything else.

Besides no one here gives a shit about Neymar anymore, they're just unsatisfied with Dembele.

Don’t see how PSG’s failures are relevant to how good Neymar is. Does that mean Messi is shit cos we keep getting KO’d in CL...

OD has been indisciplined and unprofessional himself. Spent the first year and half eating all sort of crap and playing Fortnite all night long, not waking up for training sessions.

He strikes me as the type of guy that's more about the fame than the game, while other players are able to combine both.

I get that vibe too, he’s won the World Cup and joined Barcelona, seems as if in his mind he’s already made it. Whereas other players (like Neymar for example) came with a massive fee and name yet worked hard, won everything with us and became a top 3 player in the world.

Indeed.

Talent alone gets you nowhere. It's going to be tough to sell him when Man City are selling Sane for 60m to Bayern. Would probably have to include him in some trade deal and tell him that he's done at Barca and won't get any minutes going forward.

It's very sad because he is very talented and could have been the perfect winger for us, but you gotta cut your losses when you can. He'll never reach his potential because he's unlikely to ever work hard enough and truly grind for it.

I feel like part of the reason we are being stubborn with Dembele is the ridiculous fee we paid. Like we want to prove a point, yet here we are 2.5 seasons later, zero improvements from him, unprofessional and injured all the time. Should just cut our losses and sell for whatever imo.

exactly, because making it to the semi finals last year is exactly the same as getting knocked out in the round of 16 like neymar did against madrid, and barely scrapping it past an inexperienced, young dortmund side. such an apt comparison

and i cant even mention last year against utd, because like dembele, he's always injured

Need we mention Roma in the quarters? lol going out to Roma in the quarter final with a 3 goal advantage is WAY worse than losing to Madrid who were the current CL Champions at the time. Also Neymar was injured for the 2nd leg, c'mon pal.

he played the first leg against madrid and what was the outcome? we can't mention last year, because like dembele he's always injured. and he BARELY advanced to the quarter finals against an inexperienced dortmund side.

that's neymar's resume from 25-28. now go compare that to ronaldo and messi at similar ages instead of measuring him up against dembele.

dembele could've remain injury free these past three seasons and he still shouldn't have been able to compare with a neymar. that guy left barca to take the mantle of messi and ronaldo, and yet those guys still remain atop of the footballing world despite being washed up because neymar's post barca career has been just as embarrassing as dembele's here. ahahahaha
