How will the board have the cash to get him back? There is no revenue! Only way that could happen is if they get Ney for free and Barca would have to wait two more seasons till that happens.

That new contract is for 5 years dude with improved numbers. Do you think he is so stupid to turn it down? Besides, this summer Mbappe, Cavani and Di Maria will be gone to other clubs and they will have money to keep Neymar and bring in some younger players.

'No chance' is underestimating this board, imo. It is the board which went out and said this way after Corona kicked in: "I do not want to discuss names, but we will be in a position to make transfers for players that we want to sign. We are the most profitable club in world football and we can sign the players that we want at this club". WTF is that, when everyone and their dog would be OK with "no big signings" this summer, because.. you know.. The board could even gain popularity by praising youngsters such as Alena, Puig, Fati and saying that we'll be alright without major signings - have faith in La Masia etc.
Bartomeus plan: Sign Neymar to keep Messi happy and make Messi extend, so that he won't be the president who pissed Messi off so he leaves. That would damage his legacy way more than "he should have betted on La Masia more". Therefore there is at least not "no chance" that Neymar ends in Barcelona. Maybe not like in the video, but who knows.

Neymar wont be signed. There is no realistic scenario it can happen.
'Promoting La Masia' is all well and good if the players are good enough but likes of Puig is massively over rated while Alena is falling out if team at Betis before it all stopped.

Just talking about goodwill for the board, I agree that Puig+Alena in midfield isn't enough.
Jury is still out about Neymar until he extends with PSG, imo.

The board want to save and generate as much money as possible they would love for B team players to be getting the step up as financially it is better and good for their image.
B team players being promoted will be down to Setien and talks with Pimentia etc.
This idea that they step in and stop the B team players when others think they are good enough is not with reality.
