I was wondering a couple of days ago about what is going to happen to his release clause if they get relegated. 25m is a wonderful price.

all crossed that celta gets relegated. i like them tho. but 25 mil for gomez is a steal, and it makes sense with him being friends with suarez and getting 30-40 per cent of the playing time. maybe he won't cut it as a future number 9 here, but its low risk, and we can easily get more for him if we sell him.

He's that kind of striker you bring in the 60th minute to try something different. If he accepts that role, then by all means, sign him, but he's not the man to lead our frontline, not even close.

I like Maxi Gomez given I opened this freaking thread, but this would be a very poor investment. We need a striker that's faster and moves better off the ball. Maxi right now moves like a 32 year old Suarez which frankly is worrying. Celta are also not going down, I can see them going on a small run and staying up.

I haven't watched him much, but Luka Jovic seem to fit much better in that regard. He'll also cost about the same.

Screw La Liga experience. We burned ourselves because we prefered La Liga experience over better quality or fit before.
