Martin Braithwaite

What I love about Braithwaite is that he is more attracted to running into space rather than waiting for the ball come to him.

His profile is one that we are desperately in need more of as we have a lot of players who prefer to have the ball come to their feet.

He should be replaced, but not by a better player, but by a better number 9. Both Lautaro and Depay are better players, but none of them can lead the forward line.

Braithwaite is proof that Barca don't need a technical ''Barca-DNA'' forward. Even with an average classical striker the team looks so much better

Right. It's not about Martin, really. But the role he plays. Against Osasuna, none of the goals bar Messi's wouldn't have happened without a 9 like him.

That's some impact, even if he doesn't prove to be good enough.

Well said. Great point.

His best games came against 2 teams that have a total of 2 points combined in the CL group where's there 1 more game to play. They are one of the worst teams in this year's CL.

You have the habbit of trashing players you don't like when they perform good against mediocre teams but try to make your argument on players you like based on performances against shit teams. Double standard much ?

There is a reason he was playing at Leganes , a bottom table team.

I am happy he got some goals even if it's against shit teams because it's better than not scoring at all but he's not the solution. We can sell Coutinho / Griezmann and make room financially for Haaland or a top striker.

About Kiev and Ferencvaros being poor, isn't Barca-Juve the strongest pair out of all CL groups this season, so it is logical that they will win easily in all matches.
After all, they have two best players of all time in their ranks, right?

About selling Griezz and Cou to buy Halaand, ok.

But even a better idea:
Why not sell Messi?
Even his wages alone would be enough for 50-80% of Halaand's transfer?

About Martin, I don't get the hate.
Why do you guys hate him?
He doesn't have that famous silky Barca Dna touch, pass, technique and false 9-link up skills that worked 10 years ago?

He is a guy with meh technique who is scoring tap ins and is helping to all of his forward teammates with his presence and movement.

I am not sure what you are trying to prove. Everyone likes what Braithwaite is offering now. The point is we can probably find someone even better for his role. If not, then keep Braithwaite.

not only does he masturbate over braithwaite's exploits against three bum teams that we defeated by 3-4 goals anyway, but he actually goes on full troll mode with comparisons against lautaro or depay, who for better or worse lead the line for argentina/inter and holland/lyon.

the guy is a certified idiot as trolling has a minimum level of truth to it.

scoring against osasuna, at home, in a 4-0 win, isn't something to brag about. it's like last year when people were mentioning that griezmann did score a few, but when you looked at the circumstances those were mainly goals at home, in big wins.

not expecting for him to be suarez 2014, but i'll reserve some praise for when he'll do it in some meaningful circumstances. we'll have to buy a very good striker anyway.
He is right in this instance though. Braiths impact is visible and obviously makes team play better no matter the circumstances or opponent and Barca plays "farmers" 90% out of the season anyway. And given that against the left 10% nonfarmers Messi, Cout and Griez combo has sucked big ol' ass, you lose your point anyway.
And really, who should Barca replace him with in current financial situation? We already have 4 (if including Pedri) AMs up front there so getting someone like Depay, who is more of the same only crappier quality, would be absolute disaster.

I've been screaming from the rafters to play MB from the first game we saw him play. It's ridiculous how much a basic, hard working #9 who makes runs and holds his position improves this team. This isn't about him being special, he's not, but he's UNIQUE in this team.

I don't care HOW good the opposition is, he MUST play, not for what he will do individually (and you never know, he might even score) but because how that changes our play and possibilities around midfield and the flanks. His hold up play and basic passing isn't very bad at all.

It doesn't matter if we have 'better' players - ala the French clown or Lautaro or whoever - he improves the team while they would not, simply because nobody else plays the #9.

It's not about who is he. It's about what he can provide right now in the moment. Most people are so wrapped up in the fact that he is a Leganes level and championship level and whatever else level. Ok fine. Right now though, he is the only player with the qualities to play the 9 role and God knows we need someone in that role for the reasons BBZ and other mentioned above. Holding the ball up, making runs, occupying the cb's and just providing a presence in the fecking box. The Basic shit you would expect a classic 9 to do. Maybe in the winter or summer if the money is there then we can look at options but right now he is useful.

I'm looking forward to him becoming our starting no9 for the next two seasons. Then keep the money, and maybe push for Haaland. What a journey for him... Suddenly Barca is in a place where profiles like Braithwaite are no longer ignored because they are not trendy.

Breath of fresh air watching him run his ass off and take nothing for granted. A period with some financial struggles will help the club in the long run to realize things that have been forgotten in time.

Point of correction: His best games came when he was played fully in his position, he has been coming in as a sub and playing out of position till recent (the funny thing is that it's always obvious when he is subbed out as of recent cause there is no more presence in the box).
