That's fair, but rarely do clubs succeed at replacing legendary players with the funds that are free'd up from their departure.

it’s not about directly replacing Messi that’s impossible. But we need a system back, more dynamism, pace and fluidity. We also need a sporting management section who is competent and selecting the right signings. That’s been absent throughout all of Bartomeus reign.
For example Liverpool were making signings that rival fans would be mocking Barca for, e.g. an 8 million Andy Robertson who ended up an incredible player. Free up Messi, you get a player who doesn’t want to be there gone and you could liberate some players. Messi dependence almost worked in 18/19 apart from that we are getting further and further away from the elite. Something had to change, this might be as much of a blessing to the team as it’s gonna be for Messi having a fresh start somewhere else.

And you know how in real life people talk completely imprecisely about comparatively easy shit like rent contracts. No indication that the football journalists are any better in this, so no one probably has a real clue what's in there right now except for the two parties involved.
