Lionel Messi - v7

Had a great 2nd half vs Bolivia but it?s not the same Messi as before, we can all see that. Of course he will loose his acceleration but he makes so many technical mistakes that he never used to do before. And the amount of goalscoring chances/positions he gets in has been under 1 pr game for at least the whole year.

The technical decline is a result of the physical decline imo. He just does everything at a much slower speed. Which makes him predictable and sluggish. Easy to guess and overpower.

Also, unfortunately, he likes things which don't suit him. If he had willingness to play more advance and refine his game as a striker, he'd get more out of his last years. But he likes to play in crowded areas, where you need great movement to stand out.

Also, he needs to be careful if he goes to Premier League. He could be a disaster in England at the pace and intensity that is currently displayed there. I think 1 more year at Barca and moving to USA or retiring at 35 is ok.

True. I can't see him lasting there that long. Look at the challenge Thiago had to face today. Messi would face a lot of horrible challenges.

Yea, young Messi would break records left and right in that league. This Messi needs a slower pace. Maybe Serie A or Ligue 1.

Messi is one of the most intelligent Person in Football. There's a reason why he chose City because City has the ball all the time and a De Bruyne who would give slice passes which Messi would convert everytime. He doesn't have to track back because at City

Imagine De Bruyne Passes to Messi , 100 Goals incoming.

it's a hard no to Ligue 1

Defenders are butchers and Refs are blind

Serie A or J- League would be cool

btw, not sure why he's getting flack for today's performance. He, Pedri and Dest were our best players. Lenglet, Busi, Bob, Griezz and Dej were unsorted sampah

City don't look great mate. They just got blown apart by Leicester the other round.

You don't know Messi. He would drop down and steal the ball from DeBruyne.

Ronaldo is smarter in this regard. He understands his flaws. Messi is not as good admitting his flaws or decline in some areas. Messi needs to change his game plan to get the best out of him the next few years.

Yea, he'd mostly clash with De Bruyne for the no 10, main creator, role. Granted City would be an interesting option, I don't see washed up 34 years old Messi cutting it in the Premier League based on the speed and intensity in that league.

He will probably be decisive only against crap teams at home. The level where he went on away games vs Madrid, Atletico, Sevilla and dominated them, scoring and dribbling players for fun in the box is over.

Physically he is done.

100%...sadly
