Imagine having a system though. An organized set up where players know what is expected of them and can practice and thrive in their role.

It makes medicore players like Garcia play better than they are.

Meanwhile, a lack of structure or system can lead to good players looking below average or awful.

This is Barcelona under Xavi.

Hard to believe people like Serghei, Jamcock etc fail to understand this or are straight up delusional about it.

It's so simple really...
And honestly those who can't understand that, don't get football.
The best symptom of such myopia is overrating players that shine within a structure ('Saka is the best RW in the world' etc) and underrating players that can't shine without any structure ('Felix is trash' etc.)

LMAO, now xG sum doesn't mean anything, it's about the big chances...

Xavi and the team, especially in finishing and defense had a bad outing. But Birdy will come here unhinged while dropping a parade for 5 W in 16 games Pochettino

Allowing their second goal is the crucial mistake. Not caused by an individual error but by fundamentally misguided defensive principles across the board.

The way our players are just running at the ballholder whithout a care in the world, abandoning the structure to the point where a left back can waltz 30 metres unobstructed into the penalty box and take a free shot.

You can employ this sort of pressure when a) it is done with coordination and intensity or b) when it's deep in their end. Otherwise you get in fucking formation and keep the lines tight.

Xavi winning La liga last season was the equivalent of Roberto di Matteo winning the CL.

Easily of the worst managers in top level European football.

Congratulations to Girona, they deserved to win. Hopefully now, they can compete with Madrid and get the title. Girona play some nice football.

The board be like: "we need to overpay for more overrated Brazilian and Spanish players to improve the squad."

Can anyone explain the idea to me to play 2 LBs as LB and LCB and let them change positions between each other every now and then?

Thought Kounde would go to CB and Cancelo RB when Balde joined but maybe Xavi sees something I don't see.

Thought Girona were brilliant really. Exciting to watch when they went forward.
We were beaten fair and square - no complaints.
They looked like a team that fully believed in themselves.
Very impressed with Girona - would watch more of their games when on tv.
They play with speed and are not afraid to commit runners from midfield.

Kudos Girona
Bad night at the office for Xavi & Barca.
