James Rodriguez: "Ojalá que algun día pueda jugar en la Liga Española"

Which club would he play at?? He said in years past that his idol is Ronaldo but Real Madrid have Di Maria/Isco in midfield and Bale/Jese on RW. We have Rafinha/Iniesta/Rakitic in midfield and might have Alexis?/Suarez?/Deulofeu on the right. Atletico likely can't afford him and play a 4-4-2 so he'd be out wide (although he could just drift central from the right and be their 'key man'). All of the Big 3 are unlikely.

His 22 already, its not like he was a star since the beginning, kinda like Messi, who throughout his la masia days we all knew he was gonna be something, he'll never reach that type of status

But what his doing at a young age in the wc is impressive, Im pretty sure he wont have a problem playing in a top team maybe in the english league. So far the surprise of the tournament

What a golazo. Ronaldo only dreams of that kind of goals.

Porbably best goal of the WC so far. Deserves to play for a better team then Monaco (and bigger crowds).
RvP still.

Monaco bought him for 45m euros last summer. That was before he had that massive jump in quality and composure. He's only going to keep getting better, and is only 22 years old! How much will he cost then?

Monaco is owned by people so rich that they could buy a small country if they wanted. Money literally means nothing to them. If he agitates for a move, they'll just keep paying him more and more until he shuts up. Isn't Monaco also completely immune to France's insane taxes? He's probably banking some serious cash, tax free every week, and playing in this stadium:

I don't think he'll leave. It'd take Monaco's owners pulling the plug Malaga-style for that to be a possibility.

It's very likely that, given his age, flair and maturity, Rodriguez might sell for more than 80m.

The Monaco owner bought his daughter the island of Skorpios as a present. He'd probably laugh at an 80m offer

At Monaco he plays in front of a paltry audience of 9k The French league isn't the most glamorous and there were talks of the owner pulling the plug.

He isn't a slave. I hope he pushes for a move where he can showcase his talents before its too late and people only remember him for one world cup performance.

If he's owned by a third party, he pretty much is. Wikipedia says Porto sold half his rights to some shady third parties. Explains why he ended up in Monaco in the first place, like Falcao and Cavani as well. And how Hulk went to Zenit when half the world was chasing his signature, and Bernard inexplicably going to Ukraine of all places when many big clubs wanted him. These third parties coerce their clients into signing with clubs that will still let them keep part ownership rights, getting them top wages in exchange.

Mascherano and Tevez went to West Ham on loan after having a brilliant world cup. Corinthians would never let their two best players go on loan to a small English club for no reason, but the third parties that owned most of their rights forced it to "put them on the shop window".It shocked the world at the time, but the bottom line is: players signed to third parties go where they're told. They really don't have much say in the matter.

So that's why Angel di Maria absolutely sucker punched Ronaldo with that comment on his conversion rate. :pep:
