Still supporting, to the death, a player that his top level was for 2-3 freaking years, while calling the best player of the past 15 years the woat while he is still delivering at 34.
While doing those "couch phycologist" exercises, you have to put yourself on the couch at some point.

When they got a penalty, Raki took the ball to shoot it and that would have been a KO for us.
But that clown Ocampos took the ball from him in the end and continued his cobstant slipping show paired with horrible shots.
Before the pen, he was breathing heavily and he was afraid to look at Mats who was moving left and right and tried to distract him.
I knew it won't end as a goal.

Again, if it weren't for a clown Ocampos who stole the pen, we would have been out of all competitions this morning.

You sound genuinely annoyed Rakitic didn't take the penalty and knock us out. Are you that loyal to him you now want him to succeed over Barca? Sounds like it..

No, I am annoyed by unreal level of hype for nothing players like Riki Puig.
Yet, a proven player like Raki, CL winner, scorer in a CL final, WC finalist, the most used Barca's player for 5 years in a row, get shit all the time.

Even yesterday when he was quite solid and improved Sevilla's game at 1:0, people make fun out of him.

And iirc, Rakitic has the highest penalty success ratio out of all Barca's players in a recent era, so he would have probably knocked us out yesterday if Ocampos didn't steal the ball (Rakitic took the ball after the ref pointed to the spot, but Ocampos probably said that he is the no1 taker after that).

So, he had a decent tie against Barca over 2 matches in minutes where he played.
But reading some posts here, it sounds as he was the worst player on the pitch.

For the test, just imagine if Riki Puig was in Raki's place yesterday, and entered at 0:1.
People would write:
He had a nice game
He improved his team and added more stability
he was calm and didn't do any unneeded mistakes
He did a good job in midfield
He added a nice attacking and defensive effort
He couldn't do too much since his team didn't see too much of the ball and since his teammates were shit who didn't make runs, so in overall: a very good cameo, let's hope he gets more chances

Isn't it?

I wouldn't worry about Rakitic he's already at his next house party smiling for the camera after a bad defeat.

But in all seriousness as I am above, people are giving him shit to wind specifically you up.

I don't rate Puig that much tbh but yes people would have said "he should have started" etc if it was him instead.

This forum's hate boner for Rakitic is insane

rakitic cost us $19.80m and is the best signing we've made in the last 5 years

braithwaite cost us $19.80m and is one of the worst

but somehow rakitic gets the most hate, even after he left

1) Lost the midfield battle vs Roma and Liverpool leading to awful ucl exits.
2) When dropped for a few games does interviews crying about it saying he should play.
3) Being a sign of the times for barca. He was here the last 2/3 seasons because our board are terrible at signing new players.

They're the reasons I'm left not being very fond of rakitic in the end. Good signing and brought us some good times so any abuse directed actually to him on any social media/in person is wrong. On a forum though, it's fair game. This is the same forum that rips Messi a new one when he only gets 1 assist in a match remember.

Maybe that's because we know Braithwaite is shit and we don't expect anything from him. And I believe he is actually getting a whole lot of crap whenever he doesn't score and we drop points.

Rakitic was a starter even after he started declining heavily. Responsibility was put on Ivan and he didn't meet the expectations on numerous amount of times.
Add to that him crying in the media whenever he was benched. The Frenkie statements etc.
All of that is the opposite to Braithwaite.

Rakitic was a great signing, but we should've moved on from him earlier.
He goes from being a sure starter for Barcelona to being rotational player for Sevilla. Surely that says something about both Barcelona and Rakitic.

He was instrumental in our most embarrassing defeats in history, of course this forum hates him. If he had any ability to retain possession under pressure against Liverpool and Roma, we wouldn't have suffered those defeats.

Imo, Sevilla looked like headless chickens in attack in the first half, their attacks made zero sense.

When Raki came in, they started to have more sense in our half of the pitch.
When they got a penalty, Raki took the ball to shoot it and that would have been a KO for us.

I knew it won't end as a goal.

Sevilla were okish in the 2nd half till the minute 92 in defending.
Until the red card and Pique's goal.
After that it was clear that they stand no chance.

About Raki at Sevilla, I would describe it similar to Roberto vs Semedo:
1. When Raki (or Roberto) plays, they are meh
2. When he doesn't play, they are even worse
So, he is meh, but still better than other options.

When Oliver Torres was the main midfielder in the first half, it was embarassing to watch their attacking attempts.

About Raki, he is on high wages, so his career is probably over.
Apart from his legs, which are gone, in 3 matches vs Barca he still offered decent and experienced attacking, possession and defensive shift.

Again, if it weren't for a clown Ocampos who stole the pen, we would have been out of all competitions this morning.

Sevilla started with plan to score a goal and make Barca have to get four... they were looking ropey and giving away chances and in second half decided to abandon that and just camp in box and try to see out 1-0 win. That is why they were harder to break down more than Rakitic having any real influence.

You are clearly pissed off he didnt eliminate Barca with a pen though.

Players like FDJ is completely different level to what Rakitic was showing at Barca last few years not sure why you try to make Puig comparisons.

Nah he is one of the few world class players Barca have and at right age.

Folk trying to see things that are not there for likes of Rakitic are more fun.
