Do you speak Spanish/Catalan?

I speak Spanish and Gallego fluently. And as we all know Catala is a dialect so when you understand Spanish its possible to understand that also.

Actually that's is not very true, at least for me. I can understand regular Spanish but when I hear Catalan it just sounds so foreign to me. Maybe it's because Spanish is not my first or second language so it's more difficult to comprehend.

I can understand Spanish well but Catalan sounds like gobbledegook to me. I understand more Portuguese than Catalan.

It does sound like inferior Spanish with lots of ddddjjjj and sssshhhh's.

It's like Dutch for me, sounds like pretend Swedish like something a child would make up.
