poor poor game as usual only this time he didn't get his goal to mask it. no way is he winning a ballon d'or ahead of a world cup winner after that show. that moment those fans were brawling on the pitch.. :rofl1:

he did nothing different from 2016 and 2014, both times he won balon d'or, at least this year he has that iconic goal against Juventus that everyone will remember in november when journalists will vote, so don't deceive yourself, right now the best scenario for Messi is that someone pull a show in Russian and wins the wc, possible that player is........our friend Neymar.

2016: he won the Euros
2014: Messi was badly out of form and won zero trophies, while Ronaldo won 2 trophies and had an insane start to 14/15 season

Messi can definitely win it this year if he turns up at World Cup and at the start of next season

he won CL with another scoring title, it's historically enough to win balon d'or.

most people are sick of the Messi vs Ronaldo debate so a decent WC from Salah or Neymar would likely see the Ballon d'or duopoly broken. fwiw i think bost Leo and Cristiano will both end up on 5-5 such is the way of the debate

where does he go though? he cant exactly just announce hes leaving when hes under contract and iirc he still has a few years left - he could of even signed a new one cant remember exactly.

imo he either wants one last paycheck at Madrid or its him wanting all the headlines.
