After i saw what are our possible draws.
Man, we're fucked. City, bayern, liverpool, psg, dortmund and chelsea. Thats like, 5 of top 5 right now in football world, all of them playing high intensity football, with chelsea knocking on that yet to be a heavyweight contender.

Compare this lineup to the current one.

A GOAT tier player, two GOAT tier midfielders, a GOAT tier RB, an all time PL great and one of the best strikers of the 21st century, another one of the best strikers of the 21st century and the rest is world-class or near world-class.

Just lol.

You just couldnt find a weak link in that squad, it was valdes ofcourse, but you had to get to him. What a time to be alive, imagine you have a world class tier players in every position and after ten years you still didnt ensure at least 1 world class tier player in every department of the pitch. Barto magic

The only thing that was missing in that team to be virtually perfect is Henry also at his peak, circa 2004-2006 . That would have beaten even MSN as a trio imo, Peak Henry, peak Eto'o, peak Messi.

The MEH trio.

Think people are greatly over-estimating Chelsea here.
This is still 80% the same squad from last year that lost 7-1 to Bayern, with the same manager.

They have scored 25 goals in the league this season.
22 of them were against teams in the bottom half of the table, half of them specifically against Burnley (18th), West Brom (19th) and Sheffield (20th).
The other 3 vs Southampton.

19 points in 7 games vs teams ranked 10-20
3 points in 4 games vs teams 1-10

Not a single goal vs any decent team yet. Scoreless against United. Scoreless against Liverpool. Scoreless against Tottenham. The biggest exclamation mark they made all season is a 4-0 vs Sevilla's B-Team.
Also however scoreless in the first leg when Sevilla played their starters.

They are flat track bullies.. Saying they are a "top 5 world football team" is an insane stretch.

Chelsea are much better this season than last and have a much more balanced side.

They beat Sevilla away 4-0 with their full reserves compared to half a Sevilla team.

In some games they havent scored but they have still played well and are finiding their feet in final third with likes of Werner missing a lot of chances would assume he would get better with.

It is not 80% the same team that lost to Bayern. They have massively upgraded at GK. CB and LB while Reece James at RB is more consistent. In midfield Mount is playing deeper and been brilliant while Havertz, Ziyech and Werner have all come in and done well. It is more or less a new team rather than 80% the same.

Probably still to new and young a side to be too much a threat this year in CL but they are much improved from last season.

Yes they are improved, no question, being consistent vs 10-20 teams is great and the defensive record is a big upgrade.
But they are not anywhere a top 5 side is my point, and they are a different team facing Sheffield & co. than facing a big team.
And the CL knockouts are 90% big teams. Including Barca regardless of form and momentum.

Also regarding Sevilla:
Beating someones B-team with your B-team is just proving your B-team is better, in a game seemingly everyone involved treated it like a pre season friendly.

No you aren't. When full strength and manager doesn't mess with personnel Barca are still comfortably a QF side, even without an explicit CF.

We're not even good enough to win the Europa league lmao.

We'd get blitzed by Spurs or AC Milan.

Would be entertaining to watch a 39 year old Zlatan fold Lenglet into a French croissant tho.

I didnt said chelsea is a top 5 side, i said that chelsea is yet to become a heavyweight contender.
Top 5 side right now i meant bayern, liverpool, city, psg and dortmund. High intensity, scoring a lot, and they all have players in attacking department playing football at their peak or close to the peak.
We still dont have a clear starting 11.
