What are you talking about? How is Messi in decline? 54 goals/16 asists in 52 matches in 16/17 season. How is that a decline? Ronaldo is not getting more effective, but he does play in a better team.
Football is still a team sport, so that counts a lot.

No it will not. No one here claims that Platini is equal to Cruyff or better than Beckenbauer just because he has more ballon d'ors. Might be in future the Ronaldo fanboys might use that as an argument but not those who know football. Time and time we see that the opinions from elite footballers are taken very seriously while evaluating a footballer. Ballon d'or arguments are only used in facebook. And on top of that there are detailed analytical videos on every players (I'm not talking about fancy skill videos with an irritating pop music in the background).
