Bossed alongside Dejong. People complaining about lack of penetration should bark on certain different trees, while people, who have "Raki" in their username should all be banned, because it seems they all come from the same dumbfuck crop.

I just think the expectations are completely off. Not just regarding Arthur and de Jong. We are in a (slow) rebuilding phase and we could not have done a better job in midfield. Theres a good chance Arthur and Frenkie will anchor our next great team, but thats probably 4 years in the future. For now its about geting the best out of our old guard.

We arent Guardiolas right now, but so aint anyone else.

My MoM with MAtS. Bossed the midfield for very long periods of the game and was everywhere on the pitch. Run his ass off and contributed greatly to the defensive aspect of the game.

When you see both FDJ and Arthur play, it shows you quickly how broken this team is right now on a fundamental and tactical level.

Guys like Arthur and FDJ do a lot of hard work but at the same time are being chained or "Strangled" due to the fact the team doesn't move for shit. It's a product of bad tactical setup and poor coaching on a fundamental level as well.

Arthur and FDJ are guys who thrive in teams who move on and off the ball properly, having options and being able to pick out that great pass. sure this team has players who cannot press or are as mobile as they once were but we also have players that certainly can and they aren't doing so due to just poor coaching.

Shit really needs to change if you want to further get more out of Arthur and FDJ.

You make some fair points there, but I find it rather odd how certain players are granted these extenuating explanations while others are thrown to the wolves with the blame completely falling on their shoulders.

Would Arthur and FDJ play better under a better coach and system? Sure.

But Rakitic would also look better in a more dynamic team with runners. The bloke wouldn't be setting any records or anything, but could get closer to his NT level performances.

Would Suarez also not benefit from a more creative team that doesn't simply rely on one player to create chances? Chances are yes and he would've scored in an away CL match by now with some actual service against the teams that overrun us.

I agree with this. Every player would perform better with a top manager in charge. Not just Frenkie and Arthur, but also Rakitic, Suarez, Alba etc.

So bullshit. the guy was a horse. He was doing Suarez job pressing Dortmund and then running back. It's a myth he can't run.. Beast.

This was predicted by a guy on twitter a week ago.

Since the news of Rakitic being offered all over the place came out, Mundo Deportivo full on went into pro-Rakitic propaganda mode. They will throw any player under the bus to try and push Rakitic back in the team. Against Valencia, their main article was about 'how the crowd clamoured for Rakitic in unison'.

Perhaps it's because of all those exclusive one on one interviews Ivan has had with them along the years, or maybe he's fed them one or two things about the dressing room, who knows.

Anyway, last night one of their writers on said on Twitter said Arthur was done after 45 minutes when just now they published an article stating what DonAndres said last night:

De Jong 11.46 km

Arthur 10.91 km

Griezmann 10.25 km

Lenglet 9.52 km

Piqué 9.29 km

Arthur ran the most after Frenkie. 11 km, in the summer he easily clocked 13 km a game in the Copa America.

Thankfully Valverde doesn't seem bothered.

P.s.

Just checked his twitter feed and he's rightfully getting absolutely bashed. Serves him right.
