Although I'm biased, I think it's pretty fair to blame the referee for the loss in this game...

Sorry man, Arsenal didn't look deserved winners at all today. Obviously the penalty was stupid and the ref made some bad calls, but that doesn't shroud the fact that they were barely able to do anything (aside from Rosicky) and played very stupidly in defense as well.

Who boos your team/manager after one loss?
They should have done that a longtime ago... Showing blind faith in Wenger, when he was just pocketing the profits instead of investing it wisely in the team, so much so they started believing that finishing in top 4 is like winning a trophy is what that has brought them to this sorry state where players prefer a mid table team from Germany to them!!

Semi-Neutral

Sure, I'll agree that they didn't deserve to win, but nor did they deserve to lose 3-1. I think a 1-1 tie would have been a fair reflection of the game.

What else could he do? They had to sell their best players to finance the Stadium. Its perplexing why they haven't spent though this year, with increasing sponsorship and the stadium costs soon to expire, this should of been their year. Their ability to spend will compare to ours (without the debt) especially is FFP works.

Didn't Gustavo choose wolfsburg because of the higher wages? And of course staying in Germany.

Yeh man his meltdowns are legendary, the two highlights being #VanPursestrings transfer to us and then winning the league.

Hes like a common fan when they lose, spitting mad.

No, they lost because Wenger was foolish enough to try Jack Wilshere as a box to box midfielder again. The result is always the same. There's no balance at all in the midfield. Aston Villa could constantly keep on counter attacking due to the amount of space they got. That space would never have been there with Mikel Arteta as DM and Ramsey instead of Wilshere.

I just do not for the life of me understand why he tried this again. I mean, Bould and Wenger abandoned the concept of Wilshere in that role because it was highly ineffective yet he decided to try it again. Against a counter attacking team. Very foolish. And naive as well...

EDIT: Sure, Arteta was injured. But he could have played Chamberlain in the CM position and Wilshere behind Giroud.

He went ballistic about Wenger signing some random teenager for millions (Chamberlain) and was then singing his praises a few months later

Yeah boos at FT and when Villa scored the third.

hopefully there are "WENGER OUT" signs at the next home game. losing your opening game to villa is unacceptable. arsenal fans need to wake up and start protesting seriously. highest ticket prices with no chance of success. i've been saying this for years, literally, but i think it's starting to sink in now and i'm noticing a change. there is so much potential at arsenal, and it's time to realize that wenger is holding them back.
