It is not the club that doesn't sell them, it is the players who are homers and just wouldn't leave mommy. The club should be firm, selling these players for a cool 3-6 million will help revenue. Look what Bojan got you in, bad mouthing Pep, bitter and stuck with paying for his fee back.

Barçapocalypse NOW!
Official:-
Fontas to leave on loan for the rest of the season to Mallorca.

Credit: Barcastuff.

Glad he is gone, was wasting his career here.

Good luck to him with Mallorca, hope he improves!

Note: Mallorca can sign new players between the transfer windows because one of their players had a long term injury

Thanks for the info... I was wondering how could he leave right now without a transfer window...

Don't know. Sport only mentioned they are allowed to make a signing.

weren't we able to sign a player when Abi got that tumor back in 2011??, yet Pep decided to promote Fontas.
I think news weren't the same when Villa got injured because we were only 2 weeks away from the winter market.

Why does barca always loan players? Are they that scared that they might lose a potential talent and don't want to pull another Fabregas?

Or is it because the players are too attached to the club and the club feels sympathy for them?

so barca could've made signings too when villa was injured?
If there's an unforeseen set-back, yes we would be allowed to sign... like tumor and liver transplant in case of Abi. With Villa it was not, actually. He played through pain when it was mostly unnecessary. That is one of Pep's drawbacks too, he strains his players a lot. Very often our players weren't exactly fit enough during the tail end of the season or before winter break. Pep would suffer if he were to coach in England

Seems that this is the case. A lot of the guys in Barca B/recently promoted really love the club, and seems like they would rather sit on the bench here than possibly get regular time somewhere else. Some like Fontas are also going to uni and/or have other ties to the city of Barcelona (since for many it's their hometown) so it might not be only the club itself.

To some extent it's understandable, but on the other hand they chose to pursue this career and clinging to a club which won't play you doesn't help at all.
