Álvaro Arbeloa

Hilarious that he got a bigger/better send off than Iker.

Reading the comments at the Madrid papers and several Madridistas saying Arbeloa showed more heart and cared more about Madrid than Casillas.

Hilarious indeed.

One was your captain, gave his all and had several memorable moments even if he failed at the end. While Arbeloa has been useless during 90% of his stay.

Because they knew Arbeloa was leaving before hand.

Regarding Casillas, it wasn't clear if he would stay at Real Madrid or not.

Once the Spaniard announced he'd leave, the 2014-15 season was already over.

Ideally, every player who has been here a while and achieved something should get a nice sending off. Shame about Iker, but after all, it was after the season he anounced he was leaving. Something should/could have been arranged though, it was a pity to see him leave in that way.

We didn't arrange anything for Puyol (one of the biggest legends) as well. Can't say anything about Iker tbh considering how the club dealt with Puyi.

Madridistas always resented Casillas for being friends with Xavi, even when he was performing well, they never forgave him that.

Not really, a few deranged ultras and Mourinho-fanatists perhaps. Most people here will always regard Iker as a legend.

There was a ceremony for Puyol leaving.

Pretty sure at time he turned down any after match type thing for the title run in as he didnt want it to distract team or have it after league title gone.

Most peolpe here = where ?

Cause I can tell you most of the spanish madridistas (=socios) had an issue with Iker, on the spanish forums he's refered to by a majority of members as "el topo" as he was suspected of being the mole feeding some stuff to Marca, don't remember what exactly but the global feeling towards him was not that of a legend.

Fans can be mental at times.

Can remember speaking to an AC Milan fan who disliked Maldini and refused to see him as a legend. He said quite a few Milan fans echoed that view.
