7 - Philippe Coutinho - V1

No Liverpool source even say that there is a possibility of Coutinho getting sold. Every source repeats the same thing, he is untransferable. I don't think this will happen. We can't even move on because season is starting soon. We are truly screwed. If we move fast we can at least get Dembele but they are expecting more than 100M. 100M for a 20 year old itself is madness. If he fails that will be one costly failure. Probably the second most expensive player who turned out to be nothing. What an ending it will be for this board.

This deal failing is terrifying.

Not just because we wont have Coutinho but because it's very likely the morons on our board will panic and activate Paulinho's buyout,

Coutinho, Dybala, Griezmann. These guys were always going to be really difficult to pull off, if not impossible. Time is the problem. Had this been in the first week of July, it would have been a different situation. We should have gone for Coutinho then instead of hoping like fools that PSG would sell us Verratti. Bunch of retards the guys in charge.

Activate Plan B and go for either Seri or Lemar.

There is no way Liverpool will sell. They have injuries and won't have enough time to get top quality to replace him.

Searched on a few Liverpool sources. Few points of speculation that came up:

-Liverpool fans are worried as to why nobody from FSG has come out and addressed the Coutinho rumors denying that he is for sale or deny any negotiations with Barca are ongoing.
-Some believe that FSG want to sell but Klopp is saying no to it.
-Other rumors that if FSG goes ahead and sells Coutinho, Klopp has threatened to walk-out. Klopp is apparently very frustrated about how much of a failure this transfer window has been for Liverpool and selling Coutinho would be the straw that breaks the camel's back.
-Others believe there is simply no chance he leaves.

Wouldn't doubt this one Klopp is frustrated on the way things went for them in the transfer window.

they put a lot of the eggs in the basket for Naby Keïta, but as you can see it didn't happen.

I think they were trying to get Van Dijk aswell. Hasn't gone well for klopp and now Lallana is injured. We can forget about Coutinho for now that's for sure. Only way is if he asks to leave or tries to force his way out, which is unlike him. Or we just make an offer the owners can't refuse. Hope something works out for us, but it's unlikely.

With 100m+ they can still buy a decent defender and maybe Di Maria as the replacement for Coutinho. If they are going to sell they should do it asap and move on. I will understand if we don't get Coutinho this summer and would blame the Neymars for dragging the transfer to PSG until last week.

Apparently ESPN are reporting that he handed in a transfer request.
Handing a transfer request doesn't equal to him being sold for sure.

Plenty of player does it, but if the club said no, then it's no. Most memorable in our case: Verratti. He did even more than handing a transfer request, but PSG said No, and we didn't even get to negociate with PSG.

ESPN is not that credibke this transfer window also. Their mexican branch posted very bullish bullshit about Coutinho to Barca yesterday as in it's done and will be announced today, and of course nothing of that is true.

Name more famous players who were connected with a transfer to top5 clubs, who handed transfer requests lately and got rejected by their club.

Not counting Psg's players.

Off the top of my head, De Gea comes to mind.

De Gea to Real?
Man Utd wanted to sell him, but then some technical problems occured.

If you are talking about that transfer?

So, you see, my point is: unless if a player is playing for Psg, when you hand a transfer request and if a buyer is offering a nice amount of money, transfers happen (imo) roughly in 90% cases.
