Ter Stegen, Suarez, Lenglet and Artur are showing uptrends.

MATS always been class but I don't think a goalkeeper improves because of a coach. lol, Maybe you mean goalkeepers technical coach?

Suarez has 2-3 good games so far, the rest he is been awful.

Arthur playing well since his debut, what EV has to do with his past development?

Suarez has been good for more games now, just didn't end up scoring. He is clearly more motivated this season as he is in good shape. Now we can only speculate how much Valverde had a hand in that but I am inclinied to believe that a coach that brings 0 inspiration would lead to Suarez still being a fatty.

Arthur has been improving with every game. Sure he is talented but training supervision also has to be factored into it.

Ter Stegen has been class for 2 seasons. He got rid of those moments where his brain shuts down.

Not saying Valverde is the most inspirational coach, but I also don't think the opposite to be true where he is not respected by the players but they still deliver in the big fixtures and seem to go that extra mile with all the pressuring.
Only problem now is keeping that focus in away fixtures against mid-table Spanish teams.

if certain people on this forum are going to attribute everything and anything to valverde than the same should apply to the positives

But when the team loses in a big stage, people blame the the players as well. People blame players for being lazy, for not being "leaders".

Suarez is a experienced player himself, and Messi himself is ambitious this season. Both of them know they want to achieve what they want. Look at how Messi ran against Tottenham, you know he wants it this year.

But we are talking about the squad as a whole, how the whole squad is disjointed and not being able to grow as a whole.

What Valverde did in Roma was absolutely not forgivable and it's a pure reflection of what he has been displaying all year round. I was hoping Valverde to be change his mentatlity and be more proactive in building a squad, but time and time again he has chosen the safest and most uninspiring route, which has detrimental effects on the squad.

Yeah, he is not the most inspiring coach, but he is the worst coaches to effectively utilize a squad. People using a few results to justify this doesn't cut it. He simply doesn't have what it takes to make use of it. So much squad depth, and what for? People complain about Madrid having a better squad depth and here we are, not even using it to our advantage. You trying to brush off this stubborn trait of EV will get you nowhere. Eventually it will backfire. Roma wont be a "one-time incident" anymore. In fact, it never is.

Sorry, but no excuse will change that he is a mid-table coach. Watch how the entire squad burn out in late February-March. Us playing like that will get you nowhere in the KO stages. Defending him is no use, it's probably do or die for him this season.

Exactly. We have better squad now than Real and still we keep playing the same 11 and killing them in the process. Another march meltdown coming. (Juve, PSG, Rome etc.)

We will not see the best of Coutinho until he plays in the midfield three.

That’s where Brazil have now realised he is best utilised. That’s where Liverpool we’re increasingly starting to use him (and it’s why they were so hot on someone like Fekir to replace him). He can build play from deep, and be the key link between midfield and attack.

Unfortunately EV is a coward, and we’re unlikely to regularly see him in midfield.

Lmaooooo so you expect him to take Neymar's position in the starting 11?

Coutinho is a CAM or Winger he cannot be a CM in our system

What’s so “lmaooooo” about suggesting Coutinho should play in MF? Playing him alongside a DM and a CM needn’t be reckless. He covered more ground in the World Cup than any other midfielder prior to Brazil’s exit to Belgium (when they happened to be missing Casemiro).

Brazil are a team with fast players and movement same with Liverpool so Coutinho can afford to play CM as other players can fill in when he's attacking in case we loss the ball and get countered.

Gonna be fun going up against a team like city and having Busquets and Pique try to track back and stop Sane and sterling during the counter because coutinho lost the ball which he does quite a bit. Dembele but ok hes a winger it's not the end of the world but for a CM it is quite bad

Different opponents, different approach. Least of my worries is city, we love to play against teams that try to take our possesion, so coutinho would adapt, he's a smart guy(he played against them in premiership ffs). Coutinho needs players like salah or neymar infront to get that 'iniesta spotlight' its no coincidence that his game level dropped since gandalf is injured. This guy is pure class, no doubts for me
