The Inter game was an improvement from him, better movement and use of space even though he kept shooting blanks. Inter knows how dangerous he is from outside the box and always closed him down pretty quick.

The dribbling?. Most times he dribbles and feints to create space for either a pass or a shot. He rarely dribbles to beat the defender 1v1 but he is capable of doing it.

8 dribbles/take-ons in a single game are monster numbers whichever way one looks at it. You can't see them all in the comp I posted above since the guy who spliced it missed two of his dribbles near the corner flag late in the second half that Coutinho ended up crossing it.


It's good to see him put a good performance after the dreadful game he had against Rayo.

He was the best Barca player yesterday.

Coutinho seems to be fantastic fairly often, particularly in big games. But at other times, he does not impact the game much. He's not someone you can rely upon to reliably carry the team (that's a very select list). He does not have a history of playing heavy minutes, so I'd bet that his total contribution will be maximized if he's not overused.

Agree. He doesn’t need to play every match. When Messi is back I hope Valverde rests him in the lesser marches. Dembele and Malcom can do the job just fine.
