Gonzalo Higuain

He wasn't good, Zanela. He did fuck up a lot of things, even missed great chances.

But he scores and does the same what he did at Real in the first half of the season: play mediocre or bad and cover that up with goals. Therefore he gets credited by me, but that doesn't make he played a good game. He can do a lot better, even if he scores less.

But he scored three times so I have nothing on my side because the winner takes it all. Even if he was the worst player of the attack.

How many strikers convert all their given chances in a match?...Doesn't happen even to the most profile strikers in the game. So if he did miss a couple, it's not something he deserves to be criticised for.
Neither is it imperative for a striker to score + do everything else right. Although he really wasn't as bad as ur suggesting. Your parameters to judge his performances are ridiculously biased and we both know why.

As for being the worst attacking player, he was better than Di Maria who despite improving on his earlier match was still subpar.

Pepe Silvia on "Who will lead all scorers in WC" poll:
I go Higuain. Messi is a great passer and everyone will be paying close attention to him so it will benefit his teammates. Gonzalo just needs to finish like he does for RM and he'll take it.
DMilito is great and he is exciting to watch but he is not even close to the same level as Higuain is right now. He certainly likes to take it to defenders, and I admire his ferocious attitude, but Higuain is a proven killer in the open field. I believe DMilito will start from the bench. Once Higuain's timid and humble attitude gets lifted from him (if it hasn't been already), he will be loosed like a rabid demon. Let's just hope Messi can score some goals too!

Still early in the tournament but this is a winning formula. Lead w/ Messi, dish to Higuain. It's like Magic to Worthy.

Bow down... and kiss my converse!

Yeah but you're also heavy you may not be able to lift off the ground even the small amount like Higgy did. :p

higuain had one tap-in that anyone could have scored, his second.

the other two were brilliant headers. alright the keeper coulda done better on the first but the leap and header were great.

His second was offside. :p

But indeed, he was there. Not only for his goals but also for other chances, he has that.

It's not about converting all his chances, Zanela. I said that because he wasn't feeling comfortable in the game, he wasn't in the zone. If he was, like when playing for Real in Spain, he would have hammered five of them today.

But he also didn't look comfortable on the ball, especially in the first half. Looked like he as missing confidence ... I hope these three goals gave that to him. I rather have the chilling Higuain of Real playing for the Argies than the uncomfortable Higuain of today despite his three goals.

Anxiously waiting for the next match
The Worst performance I have seen by a player that scores a hat trick.. But a MAJOR improvement on the first match.. Hopefully this will get him going bc Messi is always gonna creat chances for him

I agree, quite invisible except the goals, missing and loosing the ball on alot of good chances

Tevez and Messi works really nice together

The bitterness in this topic is disgusting.

Hat tricks typically have a certain element of luck to them. Both of Batigol's world cup hat tricks had a penalty goal, but that doesn't make them any less brilliant. Maradona's Argentina doesn't play total football where everyone does everything; Higgy has one job and that is to score goals. He did his job as perfectly as possible.
