Lionel Messi - v7

I already called his 2018-2019 season great. Where he carried EV in the league + CL, who is a bum out of job offers.

And look below,

Messi's 2017-2018 is a debatable one. I don't think it was all that great because of Roma but you can think otherwise.

Now tell me where I'm inconsistent, clown.

So Messi hasn't been earning his wage apart for the last few years apart from 17-18, 18-19, and the first half of 19-20....which basically just leaves 2020 then. He's underperformed in 2020 and you're acting like it's been several years of it

17-18 is a 50/50. For me, not a great season. But I can see cases for and against it.

18-19 he was great.

19-20 he was poor overall, average for his wages in 1st half.

20-21 he is an embarrassment so far.

Is that simple enough for you?

Honestly, I see Messi renewing his deal once the elections are over for a couple of reasons.

I don't think any teams are willing to spend even big wages on Messi who yeah he's the goat but he would be 34 years old. It will be impossible to try and fit him without having to massively compromise the system due to his current limitations which are pretty big even if he can bring some of the goods we are used to seeing.

Messi is Messi, but he's at that stage in his career that it will be hard to squeeze anything more out of him.

What a horrifying scenario. :scared:

Manchester City have ended their pursuit of Barcelona forward Lionel Messi, according to Spanish football expert @SemraHunter.

Good decision. Would have to be crazy to pursue this washed up player demanding insane contracts.

I've heard enough about 100m loyalty bonuses for one day.

Citys interest came from their owners wanting the publicity more than Pep requesting Messi. I can't imagine Pep affording Messi the luxuries he has at Barca.

PL would also be a bad idea at this stage. BTsport commentators on the Barca CL games seemed so shocked and surprised at Messi's walking around uninterested.. he'd get HUGE backlash here

Relax, my sources say they're just trying to lower his wage demands.
